Looking for a starting point for jetting on a 2011 ec250

38mm AS2 carb.

I'm unsure on current jetting specs.

Typical UK weather 6?c to 14?c. 0- 1000ft

Thanks in advance. Looking for needle recommendation. Tight wooded trails with the a few hillclimbs. Thanks

Hi Quigs,

have you had a look at the jetting thread? I am sure you will find useful information there as most members post their personal settings there.

Good Luck
Steve

Hi Steve.

I been having a good look through the jetting threads etc.

Looks like the NEDW suzuki needle could be a good starting point. Also recommended by jakobi.

If you find clip 3 too rich, clip 2 too thin...options...
Necw is same taper, same diam, half clip pos leaner
Necw#3 = Nedw#2.5
Was useful for the 200(Nech #3)but most 250s seem happy with Nedw#2

In addition to what barossi73 explained...

You might find these tables useful that relate to the Suzuki NE** needles:

Thanks for all the input,

Currently now on.

40 pj
NEDW #3
172 mj
1.5 OUT on the AS

Going to just try raising the needle to #4 so it feels rich then go #3 and #2 Just so I can feel the difference.

Still new to jetting so just want to feel and hear the difference

Went out on bike over the weekend but getting a bit of spluttering when trying to accelerate. Might need to try needle in clip position 2 ??

As per post #9, you may need to be between clip positions 2 and 3 to hit the sweet spot that a lot of people report using NECW @ clip 3.

You can do that by using a fine shim under the needle rather than buying an NECW. I got one from a local model shop that did the trick but it's very fine tuning for a bike engine in typical unpredictable UK weather.
