Justin Williamson on a gg 300 this season

I've seen a few press releases on OffRoadChampions.com about GasGas supported US riders, you may want to look over there.

Smith's Powersports keeps my bike running top notch!

Justin is an excellent rider. He was the number one rider in the XC Lites division in 2007, and finished the season fifth in points in 2008. Both years he was riding for KTM. My friend and I saw him turning in some fast looking laps at the GNCC races at the FMF Steele Creek in Morganton, NC, and at the Pirelli Big Buck in Union, SC. Justin knows how to get the job done - he knows how to get on the podium. But to do it - he has to have top notch equipment. GNCC is the off-roading equivalent of the motocross world's Super Cross events. GNCC Pro riders are at the top of their game - the best in the business. Just look back to previous years when the GNCC had riders like Juha Salminen, or David Knight. Attend one of the events and you'll see for yourself the factory sponsored bikes these guys are piloting. These guys are riding the best of the best. At Big Buck, all the team Kawasaki bikes had Ohlins forks - definitely not something you can go out and buy from your local dealer.

I want Justin to do good. And I want GasGas to do good - have some good finishes - get on the podium. Personally, I would love to have another 2 stroke, enduro option - I'm not particularly fond of orange. You guys can rant, rave, make excuses, get mad, whatever.... but if you want to see Justin on the podium - you're going to have to step it up a couple of notches.

End of thread and my last post on this site!!

We appreciate your input and yes, some of those things would be nice and we'll eventually get there! I didn't intend to insult your thoughts or not listen, just want to clear some comments and I hope we'll see more of you! I will be in Tennessee at the OMA, stop by, we'll talk if your around.

Mark-
Is there a summary of GG sponsored riders somewhere besides your post earlier in this thread?

Don't go away. Your comments in BOLD came accross as yelling, like you were putting down the GasGas importing team.

Most here agree with you, but we also know that the $$$ aren't there to do it right now. You are right that the GNCC bikes are trick and the riders are talented. Most of the bikes have leased suspension or at least very trick / massaged parts, and most have aftermarket wheels that can take the abuse of foamers and slamming objects.

riders in gerneral

Riders in general have good years and bad years, 2007 was so good to Justin with his championship run in the xc2 program but now we are talking the xc1, its a whole different game. You put him on any bike this year and its gonna take accouple races, maybe even almost a full series to get his confidence back and the mindset it takes to be up front. Myself I have been off my usual speed during races and I know you just dont get it back over night. Justin will work hard and do his best and just having him out there is good presentation for GAS GAS.

I go by the old slogan, "ride what you brong", if you show up with a clapped out 2000 RM 125 or a brand new ec 300, sure it may hurt your standings in the long run but you are out there and if it holds together throughout the race your presence was still felt... I mean look how David Knights standing have been, he went from winning everything in sight on his orange terd to hardly making podiums on a million dollar machine. Mark is just an adverge guy and he is doing his best, he doesnt have much help or even anythat I know of from facotry GAS GAS of spain. It would be like one of us Sponsoring Justin to race!

The only problem i have is that dam yellow rider truck....... I think someone should start taking donations to get that kid a $500 macco paint job... I'll donate the 1st $20:D

You know what the funny part is? Gas Gas factory race bikes are actually quite close to stock. My bike in is current state is very close to a Gas Gas factory bike. Sure the Frenchies like to modify theri engine cases and some riders prefer ohlins, but all in all their bikes are almost entirely stock. A GG off the show room floor can win at the highest level. I've seen it and I have first hand knowlege of it. (I have been to the factory (spent a week there), know the head two stroke guy personally, know some of the factory mechanics, have seen/ ridden their WEC bikes, and seen their factory ISDE bikes. The bikes flat out work. It will just take JW some time to adjust. The chassis, motor, suspension are completely new to him and he is learning on the fly (which is the hardest way). They work at high speeds and work at low speeds. It will just take some adjusting and tweeking.
