Quit Jumping to conclusions!
I don't like being negative on here and until you know the background, the history (failures and success's of GG in the US in past years), and our current status, please don't get negative or try to point fingers.
Justin brought to the table a great reputation, clean cut, professionalism of the highest form and the speed to do well. We worked together to set up sponsors (EBC for brakes, FMF for pipes, Klim gear, TCX boots, Clarke tanks..etc, etc) all of which he has in his possession many back up accessories and aftermarket product. We supplied 2 bikes CURRENTLY and have sent SO FAR over $5000 in GG OEM parts to stock as back up for the year. I am on the phone with Justin at least twice a week making sure he has what he needs or trying to help get him anything. I don't believe you'll find any negativity from Justin, just some new jitters, rotten luck, and learning pains. I have no problems with where we are at so far at all and I think its been a success. Take a real look at the field in the GNCC and you'll understand.
We sponsor a National Enduro group of "A" riders through Smith Powersports and have given a large amount of parts to his shop with the purpose of Rich taking those parts with him to the National's for any and all GasGas riders. Jim Senecal in the Netra series through Dirt World, Chance Baker in Virginia through Go Race, Daniel Janus and Lars Valin out of Halls' GasGas, Curt Comer through Lynchburg, Brian Hasslen out of our shop for R & D. Currently there are 4 bikes on the west coast at various shop's for demo, or at magazine editor's garages and one on the east coast, plus many smaller support riders as well.
Just think about the depreciation of every one of these bikes when you "the customer" is looking for a great deal and wants a better price on a "race bike, because its been ridden hard!" Or a "demo bike!" We're talking at least 2500 instantly. Plus the parts allowance we've given out to support these riders. Clothing? yes, we've handed out thousand of dollars in clothing to dealers for show's or customers and racers. Add all that up versus the economy or the failures in years past by other importers that has limited the amount of GG's sold or the reputation of a really good solid bike in the US.
All this, plus the costs of the new EPA/DOT approval, costs on shows, cost of insurance and liability so when some guy gets hurt on a 04 quad or bike we don't have lawyers closing us down and taking everything including our houses. Now tell me we're not supporting the industry or trying to increase the popularity of GasGas in the US above and beyond the resources available.
