Justin Williamson on a gg 300 this season

Sarah,

Thanks for the update!!!! This huge news for all of us that bleed GasGas! Can't wait see photos of his bike(s) and Justins results.

Thanks

Sarah you & Justin need to come over to the GAS GAS pit's at the gator enduro for some great TEXAS STEAK!:D

Glad to have you guy's on board! I think I speak for the whole gas gas community when I say we are glad to have you on board.:D

I was at the Indy Dealer Show today and saw Justin there in the GG booth with his '09 300Racing. I sure think this will be a good fit for all involved. I wish him best of luck in the up-coming season. I look forward to seeing him in action in FL in a few weeks.

Hey everyone,

I want to thank everyone for being so kind and helpful. It's nice to be a part of the Gas Gas comunity, and it's nice that everyone has been excited about bringing me in.

I actually got done riding the bike for the first time today, and all I can say is wow. The EC 300 really surprised me in many ways. The engine power delivery is so nice, it's fairly smooth rolling on, making it very controllable, but when you want some serious power just twist the throttle and it gives you tons. And the suspension box stock is sweet. I made just a few adjustments, like lowering the rear sag, and stiffening the front compression a few clicks, and softening the rear compression a few clicks. It feels just as good as any suspension I have ever been on, and it is bone stock. The handling is amazing in the rutted corners, and also being able to throw the bike around in the woods like it's not even there is nice.

I really thought It would take me a few weeks to get this thing feeling exactly the way I had wanted it to. But it's already there, setting this bike up for me was way too easy. These guys sure do build a great bike over in spain, and I'm so glad to be a part of Gas Gas.

I should have photos and videos on my site in about a week. I already have my February update up and a recent blog on there. Check it out. I'm in the process to getting everything on my new site, so please hang in there.

Thanks
Justin Williamson

Justin Williamson at Big Buck GNCC in SC

We were at the Big Buck GNCC in Cross Anchor, SC yesterday. I was exited to hear about Justin riding for GG this year and thought that this is exactly the kind of boost GasGas needed. We went to his pits to check it out. I was disappointed in what we found. There was Justin, working on his own bike, looking much more like a struggling independent than a factory sponsored rider. His bike appeared to be bone stock, and it had some power robbing dents in the pipe. Justin was eyeing some half worn brake pads - as if he were trying to decide if he could get one more race out of them.

Unfortunately, as the race wound down, Justin was sitting, looking rather frustrated, at the back of his Ryder rental truck. The bike was already loaded up. I guess he had some kind of failure forcing him out of the race.

TO JUSTIN: - HANG IN THERE - WE FANS SUPPORT YOU !!

TO GASGAS USA: - STEP UP AND GIVE THIS YOUNG MAN SOME SUPPORT:confused: !! YOU HAVE A RARE OPPORTUNITY HERE - DON'T BLOW IT !!

that's a really dissapointing report.

GG USA providing any support at all? For me, when I buy any vehicle, how that manufacturer supports race series and riders/drivers I care about is a major influencing factor. GG providing what appears to be zero support for US off road series is very poor.

Quit Jumping to conclusions!

I don't like being negative on here and until you know the background, the history (failures and success's of GG in the US in past years), and our current status, please don't get negative or try to point fingers.

Justin brought to the table a great reputation, clean cut, professionalism of the highest form and the speed to do well. We worked together to set up sponsors (EBC for brakes, FMF for pipes, Klim gear, TCX boots, Clarke tanks..etc, etc) all of which he has in his possession many back up accessories and aftermarket product. We supplied 2 bikes CURRENTLY and have sent SO FAR over $5000 in GG OEM parts to stock as back up for the year. I am on the phone with Justin at least twice a week making sure he has what he needs or trying to help get him anything. I don't believe you'll find any negativity from Justin, just some new jitters, rotten luck, and learning pains. I have no problems with where we are at so far at all and I think its been a success. Take a real look at the field in the GNCC and you'll understand.

We sponsor a National Enduro group of "A" riders through Smith Powersports and have given a large amount of parts to his shop with the purpose of Rich taking those parts with him to the National's for any and all GasGas riders. Jim Senecal in the Netra series through Dirt World, Chance Baker in Virginia through Go Race, Daniel Janus and Lars Valin out of Halls' GasGas, Curt Comer through Lynchburg, Brian Hasslen out of our shop for R & D. Currently there are 4 bikes on the west coast at various shop's for demo, or at magazine editor's garages and one on the east coast, plus many smaller support riders as well.

Just think about the depreciation of every one of these bikes when you "the customer" is looking for a great deal and wants a better price on a "race bike, because its been ridden hard!" Or a "demo bike!" We're talking at least 2500 instantly. Plus the parts allowance we've given out to support these riders. Clothing? yes, we've handed out thousand of dollars in clothing to dealers for show's or customers and racers. Add all that up versus the economy or the failures in years past by other importers that has limited the amount of GG's sold or the reputation of a really good solid bike in the US.

All this, plus the costs of the new EPA/DOT approval, costs on shows, cost of insurance and liability so when some guy gets hurt on a 04 quad or bike we don't have lawyers closing us down and taking everything including our houses. Now tell me we're not supporting the industry or trying to increase the popularity of GasGas in the US above and beyond the resources available.

The fact that GasGas is supplying parts and bikes as well as supporting racers in this tight economy is amazing to me. Most racers are good at going fast and tend to destroy product and cost $$$$. The folks importing GG bikes and parts AND developing dealers and race teams is making a sizable financial outlay and should be commended, not chastized. Watch the budgets of the big teams for next year, they will continue to shrink (Kawi already did, wait 'til you see the KTM team for next season!).

Nothing to do with justin but Go Fasters and I worked out a deal at the begining of last year to ride in the VCHSS. They gave me help when nobody else (besides my local guy) in my 13years of racing has. From the begining, they have went above and beyond everything that has been promised! this year has started out to very rough start but all I hear is "Keep trying, we know you can do it" That motivates the hell out of me. How many other company's would do that? There's your support!

In my long winded rhetoric earlier, I was just trying to state to please know the facts of the support and what may or not be working first and give us and all the riders support in a positive way. Justin only got the bikes 2 weeks before the first race, with all of us (including Justin) trying to understand the new suspension and set him up with the best possible scenario and we are getting there....together.

Things are positive on our end and that GNCC field is STACKED! We are behind all of our riders and I would like to think they all are behind us and what we're trying to accomplish as well.

Any negative's on this sight reflects on other sites and that doesn't bode well for GasGas USA. If you have concerns or suggestings...."mark@gofasters.com" and I'll respond.:D

New teams i'm sure take awhile to get cranked up and rolling before the results come that's no different than me trying to get going on a new season of riding, the mind, body and bike have to get in sync before goals can be met.

It sounds as if some posters are being over anxious and expecting top 3 results where thats good in that says alot about the confidence they have in the team but to expect those results at that level is sort of like expecting Ryan Villapoto or say James Stewart with all their talent and backing to win every moto when they stepped up from the lites class to the 450's it ain't going to happen and if it does then BONUS!

It sounds as if you are giving all your riders plenty of support and i'm sure they appreciate it very much and it looks like you have picked a good group of hard working guys, how fortunate you are to have riders in these troubled economic times checking to make sure its used up or still usable before tossing anything to me that sounds like a team.

Good luck to all GasGas riders and GoFasters this season.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I wasn't aware of all of those supported riders, even though one races in my club!

Looking online, I can't find a list of sponsored people and support provided anywhere specifcally for what is done in the USA, am I missing it on gofasters.com?
