kyb Conversion

What are my options for kyb sss conversion on my '05? What would I need to do for entire front end yz swap? Or, retaining GG front wheel and caliper? Any input much appreciated.

The easiest way is to find a set of KYBs that will slide into your stock clamps and then use the YZ front wheel and brake set-up. It ends up a little weird looking, but it is the easiest.

There are a number of reasons to do this, primarily related to the lower triple. Most important is likely the steering stops, but also nice is that you get to keep your fender mounts as they should be.

When I helped Matt and Jake out with theirs we wanted to use the GasGas front wheel and brake as well, so that required custom-machining axle spacers to accommodate the smaller YZ axle and get the wheel centered. In Matt's case I also machined a set of GasGas upper clamps to accept the larger upper clamping diameter on the forks he used. In every case you should decide what you want to do with overall offset before getting to deep in the project.

None of this is rocket science and practice has made the path easier, but there is more involved than just sliding a set of tubes in.

My wife has an 11 with 45's. I used a set of Husky KYB SSS forks. Machine lower triple out 1mm and take 4 mm of the brake mounting lugs. Make a couple spacers for the stock wheel all done.

i have put a yammie triple into the gasser frame without much fuss, just a bearing change.
i also run a yz front wheel, and fender, but i used the gasser barke caliper, with the yz brake mount....
has changed the feeling of the steering a bit, but i cant work out how, or what its done, still steers fine.
yet to weld in a steering stop though and thats the trick with this path....
