Latest and greatest front tire?

I'm following this as I too havent bought a front for some time due to injury,, and it seams my choices of past are no more.. Same terrain as GMP,, we have ridden together several times.. The mx 31 how are the side knobs?? I have been running a 130 wide s-12 rear and I forget the # bridgestone front due to the predictability on grip while leaned over at excessive angles. Never liked the s or m 12 front.. and have been told I lean way over in the switchbacks.. This is the main reason no trials tire for me,, no side traction..

Yeah, Steve has a distinct style, sometimes thinks he is on asphalt.:D I do that somewhat in NJ sand but usually ride where there is no corner good enough (all rock studded) to trust traction to that extent. Steve's local stuff while rocky is more mixed with good dirt. He has also ridden with me in my stuff and I'm sure he agrees. I think a trials rear puts even more demand up front, because it tends to push the front end due to the traction. I won't even look at an intermediate tire, they all seem to suck here IMO. Pirelli MT44s would be good if they didn't shed all the side knobs in a few rides. I've ridden NETRA and the NETRA guys know rocks, if Skidad says the Maxxis SI is a good rock tire, I beleive it. I'll let you know for sure after I try it.

I need a front tire and what I have now (Scorpion Pro) is not available anymore. Between my time off and what I had on hand I havn't bought a tire in awhile. Rocks/mud primarily and passable in sand. Thinking of trying a Dunlop Geomax 31.

Michelin sandcross 80/100 a great tire

I ride a lot of hard pack clay, rocky, rooty stuff. I normally run the M59 with good results. Recently I tried the M403 in 90/100 and have been extremly happy with it. Works very well with the rear trials tire, tread seems to be holding up good so far.

Yeah Girard I found that out too. So far I like the Maxiss SI front, I think its a good rock tire. I havn't been able to test it in faster cornering situations but in the tech stuff its great and has no bad traits. Next to try is a Tubliss on the rear with a good knobby. We have an event that includes a large grass track and a trials tire does not work on that at all.
