I think it will be easier to find something if you tell us where you are.I own a 2010 gas gas ec 250. My 48 sachs are damaged in the left upper tube that cant be fixed. Im looking for marzocchi or kayaba mainly.
Hi, im from greece, not around the corner i knowI think it will be easier to find something if you tell us where you are.
the GG tripples are narrower than yz tripples, which is why some have done a full front end swap (including tripples). There used to be a section on allballs website where you could see what bearings were required to mate the triples to the bike.I think 450 MX forks will have too much compression damping for trail riding, but if you take your time and are used to working on bikes, you should be able to do some simple revalving. The spring rate will depend on your weight. With some luck, the used fork may have suitable springs.
Even new aos forks may need other springs and revalving, depending on you weight and ability + the type of terrain you ride. Remember that suspension is a personal thing.
I wouldn't take it for granted that the GG triple clamps can hold KYB forks without modifications. If you are unsure, I presume I could measure, as my son has a 2011 EC200 with Sachs forks (ohlins inserts) and I still have the old 06 EC200 with KYB sss. I can take out my calipers and do some diameter measurements if you need. It may take some days before I can do it.
idk friend i kinda lose momentum as i learn about the swap. 500e for crf sss forks plus mods and parts to fit plus revalving an mx fork for rocky terrains plus used worn fork... kyb aos cost 1350 and are plug and play. the only reason im thinking about used forks is that maybe im not gonna see much difference than new aos because of my sachs rear shock. if i changed both i buy new but i cant right nowthe GG tripples are narrower than yz tripples, which is why some have done a full front end swap (including tripples). An easy revalve is to go with racetech gold valve kit, that is probably an easier start for anyone not versed in the dark art of suspension valving
I did a racetech gold valve kit in my KYBs on the 06 model. Worked quite OK, but not optimal. An easy revalve is to go with racetech gold valve kit, that is probably an easier start for anyone not versed in the dark art of suspension valving
yep, when i changed the forks to kyb's the sachs shock became the next issuethe GG tripples are narrower than yz tripples, which is why some have done a full front end swap (including tripples).
