Looking to put a newer Turbine Core on a pre-06 EC 300.

Many guys who have done the subframe/plastic upgrade kit have made brackets to have the muffler secured to the subframe. I'm wondering if I can run the pre-06 expansion chamber but run a new muffler meant for the later design.

Would the new muffler have the same pipe angle and allow it to mate up with the expansion pipe?

Right now my muffler is just hanging by one bolt, which seems fine but a little floppy.

I guess the short answer is "no".
On my 06 200, I had to move the muffler sideways and lower it slightly at the front when moving to a 07 and later subframe. If you take a look at the image, you will see an aluminium part that I drilled and tapped to get it right at the front. Also, I put the muffler outside the subframe, I believe it was ment to be inside.

I tried a 2011 TC2 muffler on my 2000 Gnarly and they fit together on the slip fit but the angles were all wrong on the 2011 sub frame. With the 2011 sub frame, my 2000 TC2 muffler pointed too high on my bike so I cut the silencer pipe off and modified it to fit the silencer in the OE position on the newer sub frame with a mounting bolt spacer too. A little work, but it fits mint now. Not all jerry rigged up ;). Maybe the 06' pipe outlet angle might work better??

I can't seem to get the right combination of words to satisfy google, but I've seen some guys use the 2007+ expansion chambers by modifying or moving one of the mounting tabs.

I'm thinking that might be a more expensive alternative - new header plus muffler, should fit right?

Eventually, I'd like the bike to be fully modernized with battery and all the correct EC street legal components attached.

The muffler is fairly dilapidated and the header has seen better days as well, so it might not be a bad route.
