Hello does anyone have a map switch on their gasser 2008 300? I would like to install one but i dont know how or if it does have one i dont have any button for it i got a Kokusan CDI

I have one on my 06, I presume its the same for 08. If you have two "free" connections on your CDI, they may be for the map switch. If I remember correctly, there is one male and one female bullet connector on very short leads coming from the CDI. When they are connected together, one map is used, when they are disconnected,, the other map is used.

If you need further explanation, I can try to look at my 06 later today or during the weekend.

This is from my 06 EC200. The map switch makes or brakes the contact between the orange and black wires with the bullet connectors to the right in the picture.

I bought the bike without mapswitch and installed the switch at a later stage. I'm not sure, but I think connecting the black and orange gives you the "sun" map while an open circuit give the "rain" map. It's easy enough to test, just connect, ride, disconnect, ride. I presume you will be able to tell the difference. The map switch can be any switch that connects the wires. It does not have to be the one on the handlebar (or as I have it, on a radiator hose).

Soo i have a black wire and a orange wire but theyre conected one in atoher theyre wired togheter i dont know if i sould unwire them cut thema nd connect them trought a switch

To find out if you need a switch, just disconnect them and take a ride. If you feel any difference in the way the engine behaves from before (when they were connected) and would like to be able to select the map (engine behaviour) while riding, then you need a switch :)

I will have to look at my own bike again to see if I see what you mean. It may take a few days.
