my 200 is great. It just needs a bit more hit and low to mid range to wake it up. What gearing and small mods do people suggest? Bike is a 2010

Ok let me ride it and I'll tell ya....jk. From my 125 experence going up two in the rear worked very good. Then the RB mod thing is what I would do next. I am kicking around the idea of getting a 200 myself so how does the weight feel compaired to a 250/300 if you know? BTW congrats on the bike.

Whats the stock gearing the 200? Up 2 teeth on the rear is a pretty easy fix.

Stock on 200/250/300 is 48t. I'd try a 50t to wake it up, and the best news is that the stock chain still fits. You could go all the way to a 52, but that might tighten up the gears too much and you may start to run into clearance issues with the stock chain guide.

In total, the 200 has different crank cases than the 250 and 300, but in almost every other aspect is the same (including the exhaust). It may do better with a dedicated pipe .... hello Donnie Emler?

i run 13/52 with doma pipe from 250/300. 36mm carb, 2k1 ignition, xc cdi, 9 oz flywheel weight, pv cover. 13/52 makes gears a little tight, but it's nice for tight stuff. check squish.

I've been running 13/52 on 250s for years. Perfect in the mountains, a bit tight on open but keeps you out of first in the real tight stuff which is nice. Chain will need one more link.

I know when Billy Burns was riding for GG and on the 200 he was using the 12T countershaft sprocket. He also used a Rekluse FWIW.

10MM spacer at the header and big PV cover according to Go Fasters work great at bosting low end power. RB head mod and carb work should also help with existing 38mm carb. Going to a 36mm eventually might be the best choice.

I think I will order a supersprox 51. Mine has a stock gearing of 13 49! I will also order the powervalve cover to start with. Thanks all. Keep the suggestions coming

i have billys old 200 with the rekluse,he was running 12/52 combo, the bike hit and pulled like a 250 with some quick shifting,it was a bit much for me though, all it did was pick the front up every where in five gears!! i ended up going to a 13t front and it made a better combo and allows each gear to pull a little longer,i may drop to a 50T rear and try that out

let us know how 13/50 feels... i'm waiting for this ironman sprocket to wear to possibly go to 51 or 50... but i'm really happy with 13/52

12/52 has got to be obnoxious :)

What the hell have you got for bikes these days??
you got chod's 144, burn's 200 ... what else???
you settle on a bike for next year??

Hi Thanks for all the suggestions. The 200 feels great a bit like a big 125 rather than a small 250 if that makes sense! It is quite light turns easy and is easy to ride, everything about the bike is easy it does nothing to tax you yet I still cant ride it within 10% of it potential lol

all i dodge in the end was to add a 51 tooth rear and put the cdi ibm sun mode. Is the pv cover the best bang for the buck?
