My little "update," and peeling vinyl question

I just installed my new red body kit. Same old 2002 300, but all tarted up in red skins. Just need to get a red airbox cover and I'm set.

Now for the peeling question. I received the plastics with the graphics peeling up on several edges. I set the shrouds in the sun to warm them up and then put on some lint free gloves to work the edges down. No dice. Any suggestions to get them to stick?

Superglue all loose graphic edges, even good leading edges of shrouds to keep them on in the tight woods.

Wow Phil, that shiny red plastic is a lot nicer to view, than the worn black ones. BTW...did you keep or toss the old ones?

Good idea, hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a shot.

I'm keeping the old ones for spares and race plastic. Plus, it makes it a selling point to have two complete plastic sets. Now I need to get another set of side plastics (in case I keep the bike, of course).

If I expect it to be real bad, like tight south jersey brush, I'll tape the leading edges too. Same if real muddy or you sand a hole in the graphics.

The red plastics look smoking hot! I've used some 3M Spray adhesive but the graphics always seem to always come loose again. I think GMP is correct unless someone knows of a another type of available adhesive.

I personally don't feel this is acceptable with a new part to deal with a lifting graphic.:(

I completely agree, but without ruining a professional relationship I am trying to sort it out on my own. It hurts especially as I am now trying to save for a replacement, so every penny literally counts. A set back like this is a little dissatisfying. But, I am willing to try the cheap option before having to negotiate an equitable resolution.

I will try the super glue this week, as I have been cleared to ride Saturday by the boss and I want to be the person to put the first scratches in my new plastic. What's the point of paying a bunch of cash if I don't get to enjoy them for at least one ride?
