You just never get tired of looking at nambos. They are like open fires, fish tanks and (edit)

Thats one Bad a$$ bike! we are getting a gas gas dealer here in southern Indian soon! Hoping to get one.

bet that one bugged ya eh claude:D what are the chances the plastic would say 250. it is a 300 nato. good job on the red frame i really like it!

It is a 300 Nambo. The new decals came with EC250 on it! Factory screwed up as there was never a 250 Nambotin. I didn't like the gold frame so I painted it red. This bike needed a lot of work to get it to this point. Went to the MX track on Wed for a first ride. It definitely has a lot of jam! Not sure about the suspension yet, I will have to sort it out when we get to hit the trails. Back brake was giving me some grief too, I'll have to figure that out too!

I don't like smashed pipes. :)
P3 carbon fibre or steel cage look and work better - in my experience. Even Hyde seem to believe this as they are now moving into CF guards

Anyway GG tracks and turn so well you should be riding around the rocks, not into them :)

CF guards are feel good thing, look tough but in reality do more harm than good by kinking the header in a rock hit. Think about what your doing, making the body of the pipe very stiff so all the forces are leveraged on the header between the edge of the guard and the spigot. Seen this many times in rock land. If you could isolate and tie the CF guard back to the frame you might have something. The Hyde works because of this. Its also slick and does not grab obstacles, flexes slightly and glides off. Skidplate needs to be thicker and the mounts suck, but I can work with that.

This is one area that has a lot of room for advancement for the aftermarket.

I agree! The P3 will do nothing if I plow the pipe into something big, but I don't think too much will offer complete protection in that scenario. Best ones I have seen are full alloy bash plate that comes up and also sits around the pipe. No body makes them and they'd have to add some weight but look sturdy as!

I was trying to talk Steve at Scorpion into making one. Biggest factor is cost, but pipes are not cheap either. My plan is to try and fit the Hyde to the '12. If it looks possible, I may make a hybrid with the AXP plate that comes with the bike.

Another thing with CF is the resin breaks down from constant small hits, allowing the cloth to flex and dent the pipe underneath. All looks fine outside until you remove the guard.

Got to ride the Nambo for the first time yesterday! Awesome power! It really growls climbing the hills. Got to make sure you are pointing in the right direction when you twist the throttle as it hits right now! Satisfied for sure!

That's a damn nice machine, for sure. My wife isn't to keen on the idea of me shopping for a 2010 or newer Gasser. I just brought home a new commuter scooter the other day, a '97 DR650SE. We've already named it "The Fat Girl"

Nice vid claud. Prime trails! Bike sounds like its running really well too. Whats your jetting preference? Heaps different conditions over there but I still like to know.. Buidling up my own little knowledge base :D

My bike is almost new now and almost a Nambo (minus 50cc) :D
