My suspension problem

Problem is I can't find anything wrong with it. The bike has the sacks front and rear. I did put one size heavier front spring in it but thats it. At the Alligator enduro the bike would track perfect over the roots and then I thought well when I hit the whoops I'll be in trouble bit it ate them like they weren't there. My last bike had ttx stuff on it so I thought for sure I could never ride anything but ttx and I was wrong. I'm a guy who has to mess with things, and now I don't even have to carry a screw driver in my fanny pack. So here's my problem, what will I do with all that extra money I don't have to spend on the suspension???:D

Same here Mike. ;) Put in springs that would carry my fat arse and have no complaints what-so-ever. WORLDS apart from the WP stuff I spent 10 years bouncing and deflecting on.

+1 on the helmet. and some nice new boots. or.... you can send money to me, and help me get my 8 year old WP boingers figured out!

That's good to hear. I can't wait to get a ride on mine somewhere besides the street in front of my house. Hey no complaints on that so far! :D

I also have the Sachs front and rear. The rear is pretty darn good but the forks are just ok. They leave alot to be desired compared to stock WP cc forks.

The difference between the Sachs and the Ohlins TTX is huge. If you are happy with the Sachs do not ride a Gasser with the TTX or you won't be saving that money for long.

I put the Sachs back on my bike while having the TTX serviced and it is amazing how much faster I get arm pump.

Rod,
Got those springs off of a Dodge pick up, didn't you? Beer and pork rinds, right?
Just kidding, ole buddy! :)

Are those TTX inserts?

I have always had to have my wp stuff done. Maybe the guy who set up my ohlins stuff set it up wrong, but the stock sacks stuff is comparable to me. Their might be a little mid stroke harshness in the forks but I only think it's there because someone told me (those fork have a mid stroke harshness)
Again I have never ridden stock suspension this good.

Sidi Crossfires and a shark carbon helmet will really compliment your ride!

Really, who says that there has to be anything wrong with the suspension?- i had to have mine worked on because i'm nearly a midget- but if you are lucky enough to have the stock stuff work well for you-congrat's.I Demo rode a 2011 ec250 before i got my sweet '11 300, out in the rough stuff the stock unmolested suspension worked amazingly well-minimal deflection, not much butt slapping, of course i had to park next to rocks or in a hole to be able to touch the ground at all:D.
I am pretty much a Gas Gas evangelist- i must convert all KTM and other 2-stroke riders to the fold!

Just had my 48mm Sachs revalved and tuned - smiles all around and happy as Larry :D. Can kick myself for not doing it earlier. Sachs is good stuff, but has shocking (:)) standard factory setups.

One of my riding buddies is a die hard pumpkin fan . But he is always coming up with excuses to ride my GG.:D I even change a clicker setting and he says it probably changed the whole bike so he has to try it out...I still wont ride his pumpkin.LOL

Oh No !!

Rod if you want to take him on from Kentucky, I'll flank him from Arkansas!! You just can't talk to an Overstreet that way, we won't have it

Fred,
Ever since my little mishap a few years ago with his new trailer, Stuckey has me by the short hairs, (over this and some other things) so sometimes I have to just keep quiet.

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the house and we're kicked back in the lawn chairs, enjoying the weather and just chatting about whatever then out of the blue...he looks over at the trailer, shakes his head in disgust and says "Gosh, just look at freaking hole".

He won't accept payment and won't let me fix it.

So why do I have this photo? Because he likes to mail it out every now then as a reminder. This dude really likes watching me squirm :)

WOW! Some people just hold on to the past pain in their lives ...:) I would think that as the "Official GG Importer" he would buy a new trailer & not be running around in one that old, of course my GG is that old so...... LOL

Fred,
I have been thinking about a new trailer. Maybe this summer. Hopefully I can still keep the old trailer though. I want my son to come by the nursing home and pick me and Rod up, take us to the Gas Gas museum where I will have this trailer on display and I can give rod crap about it!

Well I got my first real ride on my Sachs-equipped EC today and have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the suspension as well. Some things I'm not liking but save that for another thread. I played on the top (dry) part of my loop today. This section is fairly fast and clear of rocks, but there are a few square-edges and drop offs. The bike stayed planted really well and I immediately noticed the front end was soaking up stuff way better than I expected. So I started aiming for the nastiest bits and it actually soaked everything up about as good as the $900 Factory Connection WP setup on my KTM. And, it soaked up the landings way better. I definitely have to spend more time on it, but it felt good enough for me to feel pretty confident immediately. It will be interesting to see my lap times on the stock suspension vs. the KTM once I can get the thing jetted to run decent.
