Out of curiosity (and to see if other brands also only bring out 2012's in 2012) are the new yamaha wr450 available in the USA yet?

PS I HAVE NO INTENTION TO GET RID OF MY GG (except for another GG!!)

the risk of banning the single most important importer; is the importer may ban a bike from you!

Clay, I am curious if the mags have been asking for a test bike yet?

Absolutely they have. Chris Dennison at Dirt Rider told me they were bombarded with complaints that the GG was not included in their 300 shootout even though a bike wasn't not available.

Well, down here in "Azatlan," the cool kids dig subterranean tunnels, complete with electric lights and fans.

By the way, I've exchanged e-mails with a few of my Mexican Mafia pals regarding Clay's U.S. Customs difficulty. They guffawed, "Customs ?!? We don't need no stinking Customs !!"

I should mention, one of the Cartel leaders has questions about the air filter access. Clearly, Clay, "we" don't want to get on the wrong side of these fellows. I suggest regular, informative updates.

Hi guys, I have been following the site for a while getting lots of great info and tips regarding GasGas enduro bikes. I bought a 2010 CC250 last summer from my local dealer (HTM Offroad) after a couple of years on Husaberg 450s. Today I got the call that the first 2012 250 Racing was in the showroom ready for a once-over. What a tasty piece of kit it is! Build quality has taken a big step forward, everything looks much more "finished" and generally much more modern. There are lots of nice details on the bike which I'm sure most of you have already picked up on. It makes the 2 stroke Bergs beside it look dated and bulky. The engine looks to be near enough identical to my own bike. The rear suspension linkage is different and more substantial. One thing I will say is that the new bike is noticably taller than 2010/11 models. I am about 5'6" and was on my tiptoes keeping it upright. Obviously it will settle a bit but it takes away one of the elements which drew me to Gassers. Overall the bike feels very slim with good ergos. I will have to stick to my 2010 bike for a while yet but hopefully one of our riding group will splash out and buy it. Hope you guys get yours soon, you won't be disappointed. Keep 'er lit!

If I get a chance at the start of the week I will take a few pics and then we can start negotiatons before i post them! That's if it's not sold by then, there have already been a few serious enquiries about the bike before it even got here. This one is for stock as HTM are mainly a Husaberg and Husky dealer and are bringing the Gassers in according to demand. The Gassers arriving late may not be all bad as there has been a definite shift to 2 strokes here, just like the rest of the world, and it gives the customers another choice of bike. I will keep you updated on developments. Keep 'er lit!

oops! i should apologise for not posting this video earlier, that is my buddy Stefan from germany. His verdict on the bike is the suspension/handling (marz/ohlins) is great, jetting needs tweaking (it is a 2t anyway!)

Why are there no graphics on that bike in the video?

this is Stefan's response:

it was the first Bike......no Stickers.....;-) the answer was....we send you the missing parts in a few weeks......;-)

Scorpion Skid Plate and Rad protection

We at Scorpion Racing would just like to let everyone know that we have brought in the very first 2012 GasGas off the assembly line here to our factory (Jan 23 2012) for development of the new Skid Plate and Radiator protection products. Hope to have avalability next week. I will post photos when ready.

Steve,

Can you guys make an alloy version of the Hyde Combo?? Two piece, modular would be very cool. You'll be a hero and sell a ton of them.;)

Late yesterday I got the word that our friends at US Customs were done with the bike. I left early this morning and got back about an hour ago. I put the bike together and snapped a few pics before the sun set. I didn't bother with footpegs because I would have lost the light. Tomorrow I will have more pics made and will post some of them too. The bike looks really good!
Rick....hope this is prevents me from being banished! :)
Clay
