New 2013's super cheap!

I have been after my first brand new bike for a while now. I am seeing leftover 2013 for under $6k! Any reason not to buy one? I can buy a 2014 for around $7k and the 2015's are way out of my price range.. My main question is, why would I not buy a new 2013 over a 14 or 15 considering the savings?

I bought a 2013 demo 300e earlier this year and I love it! It's
heavier than the 15. Not sure about the 14. I don't think there is a reason to not buy it. Especially at that price!

I was in the same position and went the 2013 model. Make sure for your coin you get the closed cart forks and an aluminium subframe. The 2014+ gets the nice purple shock - possibly better build quaility than the entry level Ohlins 888. It also gets the diecast engine covers and head, with associated weight savings. The 2015 gets the adjustable powervalve.

I bought a 2013 on clearance, modified the head, added protection, tuned it up, registered it, and still came in under the best price for a 2014 rolled off the floor (considerably).

Mine came with a closed cart fork, plastic sub frame though. Did some of the 13's come with an aluminum one?

I crash quite a bit and haven't had a problem with the plastic one yet. All I've managed to break is a footpeg, two shifters, and one pipe.

Different geographies. Here in Australia for 2013 we had an e start model with 45mm zokes and plastic subframe (and button of course).. or race model, kick only, alloy subframe, closed cart forks.

I wouldn't even think twice about picking up a 13 at a good deal. That's how I wound up with two. I wanted enough spare parts for racing, after crunching the numbers for spare wheels, plastics, etc, etc. I found a smokin deal on a 250, sold the estart and got a plate. Now I got all the spares I could need but haven't used. Never had a problem with the plastic subframe, but the estart is below par until 15. GG has been a learning curve for me, but all they need is careful setup. I would go for it.

I would be happy with a 300 race model. Not a fan of the zokes and really don't care about e-start how can you tell if it has the closed cart forks and an alloy subframe without actually seeing the bike?

Your right.... Halls has 2014 XC250 and XC300 Kick or E start for $6499....

i'm just afraid of being in the same building as a TE300 and FE350....
