Hello,
I recently purchased a 2004 280 pro TXT which had the lights removed. I want to put the headlight on for some night time fun but cannot figure out a way to do that. I read the tech article but I am confused. So far I have the orange wire coming from the coil or box as my power (I think this is correct?!?). Rather than having a high and low beam, I was thinking just wire it all up to the toggle switch. Will this work? There are three connections to the main headlamp and two connections to the little bulb in the corner of the head lamp. Can anyone shed some light (no pun intended) on where I should go/what I should do to get the headlight working. I really don't want to bother with all the wires in the wiring loom and stock handlebar light switch. Your help is appreciated!
Michael

Sure you can use a toggle switch for a simpler setup. Just test the wires you have for voltage and when you find a hot one, use it. You should have 2 coils, one for ignition, one for other electrics, so find the 'other one' so you are not robbing power from the ignition side.
Schematics are in the manuals that are free to download.
