new to me Rieju Ranger 300- What oil to use for premix and gearbox?

I recently purchased a new to me Reiju Ranger 300. Would like to run synthetic oils for premix and gearbox. A cycle shop near me carries many brands. I was thinking 50:1 for premix and synthetic for gearbox. I know that everyone has their favorites. I live in the U.S. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

I like running 40:1 as I live in the desert Southwest so the extra protection is worth it to me with our heat. I use Lucas semi-synthetic and it has proven really good oil after inspecting many top ends on my Gasser and my buddy's YZ250X after running it. It's also widely available at auto parts stores.

On the gear box I like just ordinary ATF Type F auto transmission fluid. Proven to work great, makes finding neutral easier (ie; less clutch drag) when the engine is running, and it's cheap and available almost anywhere. Synthetics are nice but definitely not necessary and not worth the expense IMO. Just make sure whatever you use that it is meant for wet clutch applications.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!
