The closing NESS race, "Det store Marerittet" (The great nightmare) was run in the weekend. We had to cancel our own, local race due to the pandemic, but three other rounds was run with great success.

In NESS, we have an elite class, a junior class and a women's class as the 3 "pro" classes. In addition, we run "hobby" classes for youth (below 15), 14-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+ years of age.

I was lucky enough to end up at second position in my class, 60+. Of course it's not a big class, we were only 6 participants. We are not that many riding enduro in Norway, there was a total of approx 280 different riders in this years 2020 NESS series. But great fun!

Another Gasgas rider, the junior Per Kristian Svensrud won the last race and the total NESS series in the junior pro class.

The NESS (Norwegian Enduro Super Series) is back on the calendar, after some covid-related delays.

This weekend, we raced the first round of 2021. It was hot, it was dry and it was dusty. The track was approx 10km long, including sand, tarmac, woods, rocks, steep climbs and descents, slippery roots etc. Even an extreme park with some logs and big tires. A great race with approx 120 participants in the adults classes. Plus quite a few kids.

I was lucky enough to get the 3rd place in the above 60 class after nearly 3 hours on the bike. Very happy about that.

A couple of minutes after the start. Quite dusty.

At last! Happy to see the checkered flag after almost 3 hours.

Yours truly in white t-shirt.

Reviving an old thread here.
The NESS series has been run each year since my last post. On Saturday, we ran the serie's closing race of the season. It was in my home town and I were in the organizers committee as usual. One week ago we ran the Superenduro National Championship, but that is another story.

I am still in the 60+ age class (the class for the olderst racers on the grid), where I ended up as P9 out of 12 starters. Totally, I ended up as P146 out of 172. Not too bad, approx where I usually end up these days. After doing only 2 out of 4 NESS races this season, I ended as P9 in the series out of 17).
I had great fun! Nice weather, not too hot and a pretty fast track made racing very fun.
I think I was the only one with one of "our bikes". Lost of the red ones from Mattighofen, though.
