So my 18 ec 300 seems a little softer than my other 300s almost 250ish to me . I am 270 lbs without gear so I need & want extra bottom snap . Tried working the lectron leaner NG . Bought a used milled head from a dishonest facebook seller - thing was cracked(claimed he didn't know ) . So bit the bullet opened the wallet and ordered the rk . Will keep you posted

I am 255 without gear and have the rk tek, lectron, s3 racing cylinder, house of horsepower expansion chamber and silencer and have yet to find a situation where I needed more power. Tons of low end and still screams up top. With my 18 xc300

I feel like the internal gearing is a bit different in the 2018 models. My normal 13-50 feels a bit taller.. makes the bottom feel softer but she'll certainly rev.

I am running 13/50 with mine and I honestly feel like I could go back to stock. I have been pulling 3rd on a lot of trails and was shocked when I realized I wasnt in 2nd

How you feeling about engine build quality on these? I don't trust mine . I always felt they were bulletproof before , not so much now.

didn't know hoh was still making gasser stuff . what did it cost for pipe/ silencer?

I honestly do not think much has changed as far as the manufacturing process is concerned. I own an '05, '11, and an '18. The design of the motor's is pretty much the same, just refined throughout the years. Clutch cover is wafer thin on the newer bikes.

I have had no mechanical issues thus far on my '18 in 200+ hours.

As far as assembly is concerned, that is pretty much a crap shoot with all brands, IMHO.
