Painting hohp exhaust

I am thinking of painting my hohp exhaust with clear heat proof paint as I'm trying to avoid the ongoing fight with rust forming on it. Currently after every ride I am removing it and using steel wool and soap as well as at 2000 wet and dry to get rid of any rust that is forming. I'm thinking of using something similar to this product http://www.speco.com.au/vht_flameproof.html as it is clear and does not require a primer. Anyway I'm just wondering if if anyone else has done this or has any comments, good or bad idea?
Thanks

I had my Scalvini pipe ceramic coated.
It is holding up way better than paint.
The pipe guard would trap water, causing a lot of rust.

I agree the powder/ceramic coat is very durable. It works great until you dent the pipe because it can flake off.

I used the VHT clear paint on my HoH exhaust. Unfortunately, I let it sit for a couple of weeks thinking it would substitute for the "heat curing". It did not!! The first time I rode with the pipe, the paint collected dirt into the paint in the first 3rd of the pipe making it look dirty and dull. The remaining portion of the pipe looks like I had hoped. In the off season, I will attempt to clean up the dirty portion of the pipe. In the future, I will cure the paint with a torch to make sure it hardens!
