Hi all,

In a bit of a quandry.. My stock silencer has fallen apart, and my pipe has copped a whack cracking and denting it..

I can probably have both repaired however i am interested in checking out some options.. I am in regional Australia so access to GasGas parts is very limited.. Any other models in the likes of FMF or Pro Circuit i should look at..

My bike is road registered thus needs to be quiet, along with powerful..

Cheers..

Try DEP pipes & silencer.

Hi Rosta where in Oz are you? If you are interested I have a stock pipe and silencer for a 09 300,
I run the fmf and love it, I also have a doma pipe for more open tracks.
The fmf is easier to get there.

Thanks for the comments guys.. I am located in Albury, nsw/vic border..

300ECR, definately interested.. Shoot me a pm with how much you are after.. Will the '09 300 gear fit my '03 250?

I was able to get a two different 07 pipes to fit on an 03 and an 04. As I recall I needed to change the silencer inlet pipe angle slightly to get the silencer mounting bolts to line up and also cut a little bit off the Pipe's output where it mates with the silencer as it was a little too long. You might also need to dent the pipe slightly to clear the radiator and or radiator hose. This sounds much worse than it was an it took me about 45 min.

Maybe I should have said 'not a direct fit..." :D Welder and a cutting torch will make anything fit

So I have been perusing a few sites and checking out the FMF and DEP pipes n silencers.. Not as expensive as I originally thought they may be..

I am finding it difficult though to gauge if a pipe/silencer comb would be classified as road legal though..

Any suggestions from any one in australia witha road rego'd GasGas?

Cheers,
Nik

Which state?

They come in with ADR (ala road registered) wearing a GG pipe and FMF silencer. I doubt you'd have any issues.

Bike will be rego'd in vic.. It has the stock Gg pipe and silencer, which is about 45cm long.. I also have a smashed up messico pipe there for it..

Main issue currently is that the core of the stock silencer is buggered, i have temp repaired it by welding it in there, but figured i am best to look at replacing it.. Looking at the fmf turbinecore 2 or the q stealth..

Not to stressed if the power level stayed the same to be honest as its more bike than i can handle already anyways.. Hahaha

So small update.. Got a silencer off 300ECR, which came off his '09 300

Went to fit it today and its much shorter than the stock one I have on my GG..

I will have to make up some sort of adapter plate for the mounting bracket and do a bit of pipe bending under flame..

Had to refit the old shitty stock one for riding tomorrow..

Pic of the 2 silencers side by side..

Any thoughts or advice?

Cheers..

Hi Roosta. Mounting holes appear to be very close. If you have a mig welder or know some one who has one you could cut the pipes from the muffler and fit your old pipe to the new muffler. If you do this best to fit everything up first and draw some line up marks on the pipe and muffler to ensure correct fitting.

Thanks mate.. I do have all the tools to do as u suggested and should be sweet.. Yer the mounts are identical.. Got a few other mods i need to do so will have a working bee on the bike next weekend.. :-)
