plastics for 1999 ec 300 help!

you can use 94-98 kx 250 rear fender and side number plates about any front fender will work off any make but its also a kx 250 fender factory as far as shrouds there gasgas only and good luck finding some if you want to run the ktm set you you have to get newer gasgas rear subframe air box seat gas tank ect....newer shrouds it has to be from gasgas the ktm stuff wont work is what i was told

Shrouds are totally different from 99 to 01. I replaced the subframe(alloy) on my 01 xc300 with a steel subframe from my 99 ec200. It bolted up fine and the right side cover fits fine but the left is off a good bit. It works but is noticeable.

I just bought new black kx250 plastics for the back of my 99. For the shrouds, I would think if you swapped the tank and seat with a newer bike, you could make them fit. Its nice having the clear tank anyways to see the fuel level. Otherwise you'll have to wait until some used or NOS plastics come up for sale. I haven't found any source for new plastics for the older bikes.

Will do, but I think if I need new shrouds in the future, I'm going to just fit the newer tank and seat and run the newer plastics. They're much easier to find.

ok, so just bumping this thread. also looking for a seat cover. i am in new zealand but have a dallas address i can get stuff sent to and brought back here for me, so can anyone put me onto a good supplier in the usa. i am going to fit a 2000 subframe and try to get some 2000 plastics to fit my 1999 ec 300. should just get a new bike but i love it too much!

The tank/seat/subframe from a newer bike. The frames are close enough between the years that most of this stuff can be retrofitted. I know I've compared my '99 to a friend's '02 and it measured up very closely if not identical. You would just need the shrouds/tank/seat/subframe from the same year, or at least a comparable year. My plastics are still in ok shape, so I haven't attempted this yet.
