My hot rod. 2002 Silverado W/T 4.3l 2wd. Not pretty!

Very nice. I miss having a van for bike hauling duty. My friend has a Sprinter and loves it, but those are way too pricey for me. I might try to pick up another van next year though.

Initially I searched for a van, but opted for a new enclosed trailer. I rarely take the bike out of it, except to ride(all maintenance, most repairs done in trailer). It's very light & I can tow it with any vehicle I own.

I would like to see your trailer set up. Shoot a few pics when you get the time.

I had a 6x12 Enclosed V nose with 6ft interior height. I really liked it, but it was so tall that it burned a ton of gas. Like towing an open parachute. So I sold it earlier this year with an eye on getting a smaller shorter one and a fiberglass sell/cap/topper for my truck. I often drive 8-17 hrs to ride. So 9 mpg wasn't cutting it towing it my truck. Hell my Motohome gets 9.5 mpg with my bike on the hitch carrier. The bike gets really dirty on the back, so I miss my enclcosed trailer.

This is what I hope to build in the next few years. 4x4 Van. I like to go exploring on the back country trails a lot when I go ride. Motorhome kind of limits that to smooth roads.

I like vans too, my diesel van gets 20-22 mpg fully loaded. But gets stuck in wet grass. I'm sure the mpg on those 4x4's aren't the best. Sprinter 4x4 Now were talking.

Its a VW Transporter 2,5 diesel, can get 40mpg out of it at 60mph OR you can fly along at 95mph 3 people 3 bikes and all the gear but mpg is only in the 20's I think diesel prices here work out about 11 dollars a gallon!!!!!!!!

In the UK 80% of the modified vans are vw's. The inside is insulated and carpeted plus a few bits so I can use it for camping its big enough for 2 to sleep in while still holding 2 bikes and gear. Bike theft is a problem here so they need to be locked inside at all times.

This older one looks pretty sweet too. I like vans.....

In my neighborhood, those are pretty scarce, and very expensive...even for a clapped out beater. Even with doing my own 4x4 conversion, it was still more money, than I'm willing spend...I'm a cheap bastard;)

I don't think we ever got those big VW vans in the US. I like it though.

DSCN2982.jpgHeres my set-up. It get me there Sloowly, and i wonder if i will get there sometimes. But it is great if i want to overnight, or go to a distant race. It only gets 16-18 mpg though.

I've seen your set-up. It might have a drawback or two, but has some cool factor. I can't sleep in my hillbilly hotrod, unless I rip out half the interior. Plus, you can park anywhere...bike and all.

The best way to get to a race in my opinion. A couple of pictures of my old set up! Except I put a Subaru 2.2 in mine and got 30+ mpg. It used to surprise a few people :D Registered 107 mph on the sat nav in France:eek::D
