Reed valve

Found two members on here at sea level running 180 main and 38 pilot. I drained out the fuel and cleaned out the carb. I?ll give it a shot and see what happens.🤞🏽

Ok guys. Here?s what I tested. I ended up using the original needle that was in it already, N8RW 2nd clip. Air screw 1.5 turns. 158 main 38 pilot jets. Very light sputter off idle. Pulls hard to wot. Next, I moved the clip to the first slot. Same jets but with the air screw 2.5 turns. Sputter is gone still pulls hard wot. I think I?ve found my sweet spot. I also noticed the plug that?s in it now is a BR7ES. I think the correct plug is BR8EG. I?m gonna put a new plug in it ride it a bit and check the plug and see how she burns.

Not familiar with that needle but anything must be better than stock.

Geez that is a small main. I'd hate you to hole up a piston.

Common misconception ; a plug chip will only tell you about the main jet, and only if you follow a certain procedure. Just looking at a plug tells you nothing useful. You could be dangerously lean near closed and also at wide open but stupidly rich mid throttle and a dirty plug as you come back into the pits tells you? ! #?

I think I'm just gonna go with a Lectron or smart carb. I checked with smart carb and they're coming out with a new SC2 billet carb. Price? $699. Cast will be $474. It's a little pricey for the billet one. I'll do a little more research and comparisons on the Lectron and cast smart carb to decide which one to purchase.
