Rekluse durability

Jim,

I am glad to hear you are getting things dialed in.

My GasGas EC300 equipped with a Rekluse auto clutch and trials tire has a tendency to find its way onto very technically challenging trails.

Some of my riding buddies get a bit nervous about going on a trail ride with me. They are a bit more at ease when I bring my 6 year old son along for a ride on my GasGas. (He weighs about 85 lbs geared up. He likes to eat!). When I give my son a ride we usually have to stick to the moderately difficult stuff and have to stay away from the really tough stuff.

This is my son (when he was 5) with me on my GasGas.

That's a little much to bring an engine. One of my buddies has been using a rekluse for the past year and is very impressed by it. He inspected it in the fall after a summer of riding and everything was perfect. I think I might buy one to use around here then bring it with me to Greece (still provided I qualify) and give it a try.

Qualify for the 6-Days? Are there qualifiers in Canada now I thought that it was still just pay and go? As for the Rekluse it is as tough as nails, my only worry would be set up time at the 6-days as there is so little time for bike set up. My only issue with the Rekluse around here is that it makes me lazy while riding because its so easy to use.

Cool idea with the stirrups for your boy. How did you build those?

The straps are made from 2 inch nylon strap and stainless buckles.

The downsides are he can't get his foot out unassisted and the nylon strap melts if it touches the headers.

No qualifiers, but there's still a selection process. Only 10 Canadians applied so I should get to go but there's always a chance that I may not get to go.
