I can imagine how slick it was down there! We were scouting new sections yesterday for an upcoming HS. Wasn't too bad early since the ground was frozen, but got pretty snotty during the mid-day thaw. Regardless, it was a great time to be out in the woods.
The land owner showed us a cave on the property that looks very promising for a summer exploration, and said his grandfather claimed there were Indian wall paintings in one of the rooms deep inside one of the caverns. I climbed down and into the mouth and could see a fairly large passage way in a corner, but didn't go any farther since we had no lights, plus its not a very good idea to be inside a nice warm cave during the winter months. Once summer hits and the reptiles leave their dens for the sunshine, I'll be back!
