Isn't Castrol 927 castor based? If so thats your problem. Castor, while having a good film strength, burns very dirty. It was widely used in the '70s before modern synthetics and powervalve 2strokes.
I use Amsoil Dominator with excellent results, PV parts are very clean after 100 hrs. Any good modern full synthetic will be OK. If Castrol is convienient for you, run the TTS.
I'd pull that top end down, give it a good cleaning and inspection, and start off fresh with the synthetic oil.
