See this recent thread posted by the Tennessee members. I'm living in Florida but I am from northeast Tennessee and I am moving back to Knoxville next summer. I haven't ridden it but it is north of Knoxville around Onieda. I have been through that area hundreds of times, it is awesome looking. Some of my friends from the Tri Cities rode there a lot. It is supposed to be a great place.

Coal creek is where you want to ride , its right next to Royal Blue. You will need a guide to hit all the good single track. There is a 100 mile loop that has a 50 mile gas stop and food. Call me and we can set up a ride 704.975.3005

The disadvantage to camping is all the single track is north of 75 along way from the campground. Buggies and four wheelers along with side by sides have ruined all the singletrack in that area

Last trip to Hatfield McCoy we stayed at a bed and breakfast. That is more than fine. The only question would be , does it take a double A rider to ride the trails? Additionally with some of the H and M single track you rode essentially right on the edge of the Mountain. We have some really great guys that would come but they are just slightly above average riders and don't want to get them in over thier heads.

We can stay on the good single requiring less skill. If someone else leads the ride then you need to let them know that you don't want to do pucker ridge. Only other concern are the less experienced riders in good riding shape?? Can they ride 80-100 miles of single track requiring 2 tanks of fuel. If not it will feel like a death march to them

The guys can do the 100 miler. Sounds like what we are looking for. A couple of us have some side by sides but those are family rides but it looks like there is tons of that stuff around.
What would be some good areas to stay to be close to these trails? On the trail would be awesome, but for the prime riding we will do whatever. Ideally it would be family friendly since it will be family trips for most of us.

Where did you go? Single track trails at Coal Creek (riding area near Oak Ridge, TN) are not marked or difficulty rated. If you went there without a local guide you missed some of the best trails I've ever ridden anywhere. Just abut all the marked trails are crap for dirt bikes.
