Hi, new gasgas owner here (2010 300 Euro/Race). I 'think' I read somewhere that you can use a sachs spring on the 888 but not vice versa. Its just I could get a spring in my weight but its for sachs not ohlins.
Any ideas?

Just realised, my first post too!

Jon.. If you can find someone to measure the ID on a Sachs spring, I'll measure the ID on the Ohlins.

The Sachs definitely has a larger ID, but the question is if it'll be too much and will contact the body.

DONE! 58mm ID on GG8882 vs 62mm ID on the Sachs.

I had a spare spring from a Husky in the workshop. The Sachs spring is of similar dimensions to the ones used on the Ohlins TTX. I dropped the lower retainer into the larger ID spring, and personally it slides around far too much for me to be comfortable using it, especially considering you wont be looking to run a whole lot of preload on a heavier spring.

Thanks Jake!
As it happens, I've spoken to David ( Suspension Matters ) who will kindly swap a WP rebuild kit( which I'd bought for my old bike- only to find the leak was from a loose compression valve-D'Oh) for a spring and I'll just buy the fork springs.
Thanks again.I'll be changing the jetting back to your suggestions too!
