Selling the 300, 1999(?) ec 300

LOL, thats you? I have eyeballing this bike since you listed it. Trying to convince myself I need a buddy bike. Or buy it and make my counter balanced 250 a cb 300.

Throw on some Zokes or KYB SSS front end on that tractor and you got yourself a work horse!

Sorry, not handy. I would have to look into exactly how to ship a bike. I've never done it before and don't even know what it entails.
I shipped a 1980 280zx from Tacoma to New York, Cost: $600, for the the lucky new owner. I would think it'd be cheaper. I just got hosed by 2 sellers who advertised bikes that don't exist as were represented in ads. One very sketchy: bike in driveway appeared to have been pushed out of a truck at 70mph. A bunch of knotheads standing around. The young man approaching my door claimed bike was just sold upon seeing my .44, in my lap. Bastards!

From my experience, there are two options- Crated and uncrated. Uncrated reduces the shipping complexity (guy picks up bike at starting point, drops it off at destination), but it raises cost. Crated reduces shipping cost, but the seller has to get a crate from a dealer or make one. If you have a crate, that simplifies everything. Then it's just a matter of taking the loaded crate to a shipping depot.

I was (kind of) kidding. If you had a crate I would be in contact with you as my nephew now really really wants an EC300 but he is broke (opposed to me, I'm admittedly cheap) and your bike would be perfect for him. Let me know if you want to entertain the shipping option.

Shad, if you are buying a 12' you are more then welcome to take mine for spin. I won't be riding it much for the next few weeks, I fractured my wrist yesterday. I will be around saturday if you want to try it out?

Gotta work this weekend. How long are you out for? I have a back up bike if the GG is sold. I broke both my wrists multiple times growing up and they do ache after a tough ride. Thanks for the offer, though. I hate riding other peoples bikes, makes me much too nervous.

How is the rekluse? Which model do you have? I was riding with guys from ATR a few weeks ago who had big bore KTM 4 strokes and they were not terribly positive about them but implied these were problems unique to the big bore bikes.

I'll look into getting a crate. I may be able to get a crate from a local KTM dealer.

I know one way to get a crate ;)

If Chad didn't use his for firewood that one would be around, or you can do a "bridge loan" with the CFO and you'll have one of your own that is just hanging around the garage taking up space. PM me and we can work out something where your bike gets gone for a lot less than $600.

Thinking outside the box, I like it, but it's a hard sell for the CFO. Can't hurt to ask however.

Dont part it, thats one clean looking bike. I'm in Utah , if the sale on my kx550af goes through, I will be taking a ride to phoenix.
I have a couple question for you , is that a balance shaft motor & did you have to go OEM topend gaskets or do they interchange with an Asian bike. Sorry if their dumb questions just a newb to the Gas Gas. Found em cause I'm hunting for a 6 speed , was thinking wr trannied yz250 then a big bore but this would be alot simpler

Also your looking for a newer one this is a pretty smokin deal on a 2010 here near me.

Any chance your interested in trade offers. GP100 stainless ruger maybe or a nice 86 cr500.

Thanks , Scott

To the best of my knowledge this is not a counter balanced motor. GG gaskets were used when the top end was done, I don't know if there are other makes that are compatible. Both the Ruger and the Honda are interesting but I gotta go with cash.
Thanks
Shad

Thanks for calling me back on this. I can already tell your one of the best sellers I've dealt with, disclosing all you did. Thanks again, looking forward to picking this up :D
