Sharkfins-R-Us

I have had some spare time at work lately so I decided to build my own Sharkfin and Hand guard mounts. What do you think?

I stole the idea for the fin from the Geco website, the sandwiched design, and machined a grove in the stock Caliper Carrier. I off set it .175" to keep it a little closer to the Rotor. I used a rotary table on a Bridgeport mill to cut the profile but, you could probably cut it out on a bandsaw if you wanted to build your own.

I wish I had that talent. I once whittled a snake out of a tree branch.

I am the best clay worm/snake maker in the world. I can make them in all sizes and lengths. I can also make spaghetti noodles out of play-doh. I have mad skills.

Regarding the sharkfin, I need that for my bike. The guard mount tabs are broken on my caliper mount, so this is a great way to do it. Is there an available drawing to hand to a machinist? Do you have a drawing for the clamp mounts? I know a local guy with two four-axis machines that I want to watch in action.

Ever thought about making these for your fellow GasGas riders?
I have an extra caliper carrier you can machine and do an exchange plan for customers.

Make some extra riding $$.:D

I have a extra Brembo hanger for the owners that have Brembo rear brake system. Let me know, drop a PM and I will sent it out.

Phil,
I have a crude pencil drawing for both of these I will e-mail them to you.

I hadn't thought about producing parts for other people. I'm more of a one-off kind of guy. I was hoping to see other people's handiwork.

Dude, I am certain your crude pencil drawing is much better than my actual handiwork. I am known as a bit of a "cobbler" on my road race bikes, so to have my dirt bike with little to no examples of my "technical abilities" is a surprise to many.

However, a copy of the shark fin mods drawing would do wonders as my machinist friend said "no way can you afford that!" I do believe he thought that your example included the brake mount, so I have some explaining to do.

My handiwork is to buy a Scotts for $140....LOL

Although I like what you did, a real nice job there it looks like. Nice to see people with some skills.
