shifting problem

Hello all
saturday first ride after pausing a year due to an injury...
Had a little crash trying to drive over a lying tree downsides (bike fell on the right side).
About 400 metres afterwards I couldnt change gears anymore. Bike is in third gear I think, I can start it and drive but can't shift down or up. The lever is moving, the cam is turning but nothing happens...
Any ideas, what the problem could be?
To have a first look, which side of the engine should I open?
Do I have to remove the engine from the bike?
Thx in advance
Rob

Right hand side inner clutch cover needs to come off. Check out the scorpion looking part of the gear lever and the bush it slides on. It is plastic and can become deformed with a big hit. I usually turn one up on the lathe out of alloy.
Even it this is ok you will be able to turn the shift drum and see if the problem is internal or external.

Your shift return spring may have got broken or dislodged. Take off clutch and right hand side casing and have a look, fairly straight process which can be done with the engine in the bike

Wow, that was fast!
Thx @ Gasser Nate and ian1987, any special tools besides clutchholder needed?

Before you take her apart just check that the lever isn?t making contact with the magneto cover
Yes, thx swazi_matt, I did check that and it can be moved freely up and down, it just doesn't shift. I think it has even more way than before while shifting worked well.

Update

Hi all, I'd like to update all the helpers.
My mechanic (didn't want to do it by myself) said the selector axis is bent, however...
;-(

Pics to come if possible
