Cheap Chinese replacement carb.. (review)

About jet block gasket. Had an '08 300, with finicky carb...engine completely rebuilt.
Could never get it to idle right, too low, too high, intermittent, cutting off.

Tested jet block leak as per YT videos, seemed OK.
Bought chinese carb copy but never installed it. Sourced the jet block gasket from it, put in original carb...aaaand...nothing changed. So replacing this gasket ment zilch.

It coud be atomizer being oval, bowl leak or just tiredness of casting from years of use.
Installing copy carb was a better choice for you.

I did get chinese ktm replacement starter motor, needing only 180 degree housing twist to crank correctly, and so far starts like a champ, instantly, for 1/6th price.

Good result
I have been out on the trails a couple of times now and the new Chinese carb has been superb.
Bargain of the year..

Hi Jad,

Can I ask what jetting & needle you had gone for?

I have similar issues that I've tried jetting around but can't seem to get a consistent result and have horrible fuel consumption, ordering one of these carbs as I speak.

Cheers!

I will order that carb. My EC 300 01 with #7 slide, 42 178 jets and N3EG needle doesn't idle well and max RPM is sometimes below 9000. I can wheelie on 3rd gear without clutch, so maybe max power is OK.
