so why is this like tiptoeing around a funeral

Just saw this week that Brett at BonJoes got 2 '17 300's in. Man are those things purdy...

One day I'll buy a brand spankin new one...

I bought my first GG only about a month or so ago. If I had known there were bikes this good on the planet I never would have bought any of my previous bikes. This thing makes me grin from ear to ear and never disappoints. (other than fuel range) You've got a lifelong customer in me if you continue along this path of performance. GasGas is exactly what an offroad bike should feel like.

Mick, are familiar with Moto One in Boise? Andy, the owner, is building a new dealership in Nampa off of Franklin, and is projecting a May opening. He'll be selling..... KTM. :(

I have been in there once looking for Motul 710...they didn't have it, along with a bunch of other shops including the Beta shop...Cycle Gear of all places had it in quarts....still had to order a gallon from somewhere else though.

Funny thing how we whine about having a dealer...yet when I rode other brands like KTM, they never had what I needed...always had to order it. Only brand that actually had anything in stock for parts was this mom & pop Honda shop when I lived in Tucson.

No I get it, really do. We need a larger capacity fuel tank in the worst way BUT...the current frame MIGHT allow a 3.2 at best. That's perfect for us here in the east, while it's still not the solution for our riders in the west.

3.2 would be perfect for my average rides, wouldn't expect much larger than a 3.2 for a 2T.

Glad to have you on a Gas Gas Dutchman! Much appreciated!

I just spoke with Brett this morning, and had a good chat. He's good people for sure so when you are ready for that new Gasser, I hope Bon Joes will be the dealer you buy from.

Rod Thank you for the personal reply! And Welcome back! You are a huge asset to the GasGas brand. I live in B.C. canada, and gasgas dealers and support has been pathetic at best over the last few years. It take forever to even get a reply out of a dealer or the distributor in my part of the world. I hope you can and will change some of this going forward.
Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind words Cactursreid. I do appreciate your support. The plan moving forward is to have a Gas Gas rep for your country, hopefully by next year.

In the meantime I will do what I can to help support existing dealers and setup new ones. Please feel free to drop me a PM here if I can be of a assistance to you.

RiDE safe!

Rod please don't take this as being a rude offensive reply as that is not how it is intended. If Torret/GasGas is not even planning to look at Canada until at least next year, I'm not sure you should even waste your time? This is coming from a rider/enthusiast perspective. I haven't seen or heard of a gasgas on the floor of any dealership since 2013/14? And as I said parts availability has been pathetic at best. I've been a very enthusiastic GG rider since 2002. I've owned 3 ec300's back to back since then. I'm a 57 yr old guy that is fortunate enough to be able to buy a new bike when I feel the need. Most of the GasGas following around this area is/has faded fast in the last few years, as the support and availability of bikes and parts was a huge challenge for years. We live in a dirt bike paradise, as we can knock of 50-100 engine hrs per season on our dirt bikes, and I also knock off 100 hr`s per year on my ktm 500 exc dual sport per year as well. We like to ride, and get to ride a lot, and putting up with long delays in getting parts etc, is a deal breaker for most of the guys and gals in my area. As I said this is just from my perspective, but gasgas has to come back very strong and quickly, if they want to salvage any part of the dirtbike market that they once owned. This is the reason I started this thread, because I feel that some hard questions need to be discussed and answered .

None taken but at what point did I say GG wouldn't be looking to find dealers until next year? I said GG would be looking to have a rep for Canada sometime next year and that I will "do what I can to help support existing dealers and setup new ones While I can understand and sympathize with your frustration, lets try to be realistic as well.

Considering Torrot didn't take over the GG operations until Jan of this year and 2017 models bikes first came off the production lines just 4 months ago, (after a year long shutdown) how can anyone possibly say the company isn't moving fast enough? I can tell you from personal experience of another brand, Gas Gas has come A LONG WAY in a very short time in comparison. Rome wasn't built in a day. It will take time for the dealer networks in the US and in Canada, to regain their trust with the brand...plain and simple. That should be obvious to everyone here.

But... here is what you can do. If you know of a dealer that has expressed an interest in GG to you, then PM me their contact name and I will reach out to them immediately. Other than that, you are always welcome to contact me personally to further discuss any concerns and idea's you might have :)

I appreciate the opportunity. Thanks.

Idaho dealer

Mick I moved from Phx to Boise in 2006, did deal with Andy briefly. He said he loved the GG brand but couldn't sell them, no product knowledge in the area. I had KTM's, a Husaberg and a GG 250 at the time, people in the area hadn't even accepted KTM as a legit brand at that time let alone GG or Husaberg, wtf really ??!!, Times have changed a bit in ten years tho so hopefully Andy will be down with GG in his showroom, seemed like a stand up guy....

Cactusreid I have a private supply of half used gasgas dirtbike parts just south across the border from you. What do you need?

peb, thks for the offer, but as luck and the toughness of these bikes, I don't need anything at the moment. But the point I was trying to get across, is we up here in western Canada, have been flying by the seat of our pants for the better part of 4/5 yr's now. There are virtually no dealers in my area, and the few that were could care less, or don't give a shit if they ever gets parts in for me. The pacific gasgas distributor has been about the same to deal with- takes day's or weeks to get a reply out of him, and maybe then he might think about ordering or sending you the parts you need. I'm not making this up just because it is a good story, this has been the life of a GasGas owner in British Columbia Canada for years now.

I'm going through the same problems on the other end of Canada.

In quebec city there is someone who says he is a dealer, but is seriously lousy in communication skills and customer servise.

One dealer in Ontario was supposed to let me know when he would get some of the parts i was looking for in stock. That was in march, I found them on the internet instead.

Maybe the dealers just aren't taking their customers seriously yet.

Hoping to see some dealers pop up in Alberta!
Very little exposure here, most people assume my bike is a honda or a beta lol.

I am baffled at why some of you are beating up on Rod.
He's only been back with GasGas for a few weeks. Give him time.

While Rod was gone, no one squawked about the Canadian situation. There's no magic wand he can wave and have a perfect outcome overnight.

Just chill and enjoy riding.

My $0.02.

I don't think we are beating on Rod. I see it as making him aware of a problem that the customer thinks should be taken care of.

If anything Rod is definitely not the problem but more the solution. I'm pretty sure the problems are at a local level.

Which shop does Andy own?

gasgas man and all of the people at corporate gasgas , we in Canada are just looking for a small reassurance that we have not fallen completely off your radar!
