Bumping an old thread, but here’s some useful into.
Bought a 2012 KTM250EXC-F recently, which needs a thin walled socket to access the spark plug. I asked a KTM mechanic what he uses, and he showed me the socket that he has.
It’s a Bikeservice BS9133 Extra Thin Walled Spark Plug Socket. I bought it from a car accessories chain here in Australia called Supercheap Auto. Cost me $14.99. It’s a 3/8” drive, so I bought a 1/4” to 3/8” adaptor from a hardware shop and will use it with a small 1/4” ratchet.
After not even starting my 2006 Gas Gas FSE450 since 2008 I’m going to give up and sell it. Great bike… I bought it new and didn’t really use it. I’ve gone to a 250cc four stroke, hence the KTM.
I’ve got no idea if and where this socket is available in other countries. The Bikeservice web site is

This is what works. I bought two of them - one for the toolbox and one for my bumbag.
I bought some 1/4” extension bars and a 1/4” to 3/8” adaptor at the same time.
Yep, that’s thin walled.
Fits in the KTM perfectly.
