i just made a batch of steel drain and fill plugs they have 13mm heads and the drain plug is magnitizied they come with new copper sealing washers and free shipping for $20.00 i put them on egay if if anyone is intrested . thanks Dave
I could be game for a pair of these too.
Do you know if these will fit through the hole
in a Flatland, (I believe), skid plate? Removing the
plate for every oil change would negate the
positive advantage of the hex head.
What is the O.D. of the seating flange?
And if I order them from FleaBay. Should I bid
on the item twice for two sets or just contact you
after placing the bid?
Thanks, Jeff so. Cal.
Just a minor tip to folks buying these....
Be "gentle" when tightening them. Since they are steel and 13mm hex, the weak link will now be your engine case. I don't want to see folks stripping out their cases from over-torquing the plugs.
Please don't take this post the wrong way and not purchase them. I think these are a nice idea. Just be aware that you now have the capacity for more torque on an item that only needs to be snug-tight.
Hey Dave,
Out of curiousity, why 13mm hex vs. a smaller size like 10mm, etc.?
HI Matt , i was gonna go with a 12mm head but i figured 13mm was a populer euro bike size so thats what i went with, a few people have told me about possible overtighting issues with the steel bolt , which i can understand but every japanese make has steel drain plugs.
Hello I live Spartanburg, Would like to purchace a set of your plugs for my 05 300. Can you please call my cell number and I'll come by and pick them up. 864 357 8794 cell.
Thanks Ken
i could make an insert that goes into the hex in the axle and has a 13/16 head on the outside ,i could make the tool about an 1'' long so it will fit in your fanny pack nicely.
