Steering dampers for 2010/2011s?

Girard,

A couple years ago Robby gave me a BRP/Scotts bar clamp that had two sets of damper mount holes, one for Scotts, one for GPR. I think it was for fat bars in the foward position on an OEM GG top triple clamp. I'll dig it up tonight and get a # off it. Its yours if you can use it.

Pretty much any year tower from a KTM fits the new Gassers. My girlfriend had a scotts damper on her 08 and 2010 KTMs and the tower bolted directly on to her 2011 EC250.

Ohlins 2.1 damper

The new Ohlins 2.1 works great. No special clamp needed will work with any handguard set up and doesn't raise the bars at all.

onegreyghost, i've been digging around everywhere trying to get fit info on the ohlins damper for my 2010 300. ohlins don't list an application for gasgas, at least not so far as i found. what damper did you get, did you have to adapt it, and how much of a headache (if any) was it to get fitted?

i'm ready to pull the trigger, and while the ohlins is a bit more spendy than the competition, it sure does tuck out of the way nice. would really appreciate some insight on how to get rolling with one.

Ohlins does list the 2.1 for the Gas Gas.
It will not fit the 2011 bikes, as the steering stem diameter is smaller.

I fabbed up an aluminum mount plate ( with a little help from a couple friends) that i mounted midway between a couple of billet spacers that i used to get my bars up approx 1.25 inches. I also like to run my bars as far forward as possible. i used a tower that i had laying around for a te 450 husky i used to have. bolted right on the "11" gasser neck ! how's that for hillbilly engineering? i'll try and post some photos. it's not real pretty, but i'd rather go riding ,instead of polishing shiny things.

it would be very interesting
somebody can help me?
I'm interested in this size damper. where I live there is not one to measure

A few dimensions for you. Imperial dimension divided by .03937 = millimeters. Just ask if you need anything else.

When I made a CAD model of my damper I did not draw the lowered section at the mounting bolts. Your dimension "b" will be .865 (rough measurement).

I've been asked about the mount. The two damper mounting holes are threaded (shown as plain drilled holes in the drawing). The mount itself is held in place by the handlebar clamp bolts.
