Steering Geometry

Were there any changes to steering geometry (angle...offset???) from 2011 B frame and 2012 new frame? Also, newer write up's suggests recent changes in last two years since 2012. References to "nimbler" handling due to changes in frame in some of the Gas Gas promotional stuff. Considering a new 2015 and need to know how differs from my 2012.

You missed out. I think the Gasgas frame has had the same basic geometry since 2005. KTM still is trying to figure it out.

For anyone else.... The 2012/13 frame is the same...the 2014/2015 frame is almost the same, it appears like its stiffer in the steering head. Stiffer in the side beams and braces and about the same or not as stiff in the shock tower. I owned a 13 and have 1 hr on the 15 and they handle better, change direction through the pegs quicker and are more balanced (eg rear brake sliding around corners) and 'feel' smaller. Either they have changed the valving in the forks or the frame is helping the fork action... I'll open them up soon. The shock is flat out awesome and probably doesn't need a revalve. I suspect reiger decide on the fork valving as they do on the trials bikes, because it is very balanced suspension. I can ride it without changing springs happily and I'm 100kg.

Ps look at the parts manuals and you will see the frame differences.

Thanks for feedback. Went Orange......

Now that's funny :D:D:D:D

My dealer is stoked with his 2015 demo 250R and doesn't want to change anything. I'll agree with Simmo that for a stock bike it felt really nice. Shock felt much better than my stock Ohlins. Bike was balanced, and easy to just get on and ride. Found the forks didn't like being plowed into things too much and would blow and deflect.

The more I ride and the more I tune, the more I realise that while a soft plush setup feels grouse in the technical slow areas, they downright scare me as the pace comes up. Deflecting off sharp edges and riding low in stroke too often. I'd almost always give up some compliance at trail speeds for confidence at race pace.

Also, visually inspecting the 2015 to my 2013... I thought the new frame looked smaller/more compact.
