sticker kit robbery

I have gone through bikes one every year for the past several years (until my GG) because I didn't like them for one reason or another. This will be my third season on my GG....why?

Because I love the bike and I've sold a couple by letting people ride mine and telling them what I like about them.

Brand loyalty isn't very smart IMO. I don't know anyone who works at the factory and I doubt anyone here does either.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply Bowhunter.

The GGs are great bikes with some quirks. They take some time and effort to source parts and set them up for your own style. If you don't spend the time to cross reference some parts, then sometimes you'll overpay.

Without a doubt there are other bikes that are easier to find parts for and the parts are cheaper. I have a couple of buddies that if they can't call the local dealer and get the part painlessly/quickly they get frustrated. If you think you are one of these people you would probably be happier on a pumpkin or a Yamaha, IMHO.

Thank you for the Blackbird link. I count 8 or 9 aftermarket advertisements on those graphics. I guess I'll have to overlook it since that's about all there is. I suppose a two year old bike with new graphics of any sort will still look pretty good. I just wanted to make it look "new" again.

Thanks again for the link, I really mean it.

I've found that any negativity towards GG here most times gets an attitude. I sincerely thank you for your input.

Hey Bob. My 2010 OEM graphics have just as many aftermarket advertisements on them. I tried to find some without them for when I do replace them, I don't mind it that much really. My plastic is really scratched/scuffed (black) so i may replace it all over winter.

Here's another option for graphics.
Simple designs.

The thing with plastics/stickers they don't make the bike go any faster or handle any better. Personally i would love it if my bike had a newer look but i would benefit more by spending the money on training - just my two penneth .... :-)

Very wise words....

This is of course true.
But I must say that after I did my "transformation kit" from 2006 plastics to 2011 plastics, I feel that the bike is easier to ride. I think I get further forward on the bike (standing up) and have more control. I don't know why, I think it may have to do with the shape of the radiator shrouds & seat. Or perhaps its just a false feeling, I don't really know.

Anders thanks for that - when my wife asks me why i spent so much money on plastic and stickers that is the answer she is going to get :-)
The whole problem is that, as men, we have evolved to love 'new & shiny' - we can't resist :-))

Thanks guys for the links. I was at my local GG dealer the other day and I noticed that the brand new bikes have advertisements on the graphics. I guess that's the new thing. I don't like it but what ya gonna do?

The 2011 Mexico six days graphics have zero advertisements on them, that is unless you consider it advertising for Mexico? Strange thing to obsess over?

These guys do a good job IMO, I have been running a full custom set with lots of logos since the Lead Belt National round in 2012 and they still look pretty good (not new but not crappy either),but they have 'stock' designs that start at $99.95 a set. The owner is a rider as well + they always help us with our Almosta Charity Race & they offer discounts to riders in all the local area series. Give them a try....... http://www.bikegraphix.com/gasgasmotocrossgraphics_1.aspx

I raced a two motto hare scramble a few weeks ago that lasted about 2.5 hours; I just wanted to add to the post that on my last lap (riding my 2012 GG 300R) that I must have passed a handful or more riders that were parked on the side of the trail broken. These bikes were a mixture of Jap and KTM. Maybe one would have been a GG if I wasn't one of the very few riding one that day, but I doubt it. I just want to say the GG just plugged along all day long as it usually does. No problems to mention except for a little clutch bark and a left rad shroud clip breaking as the right side did in the past. Nothing a zip tie couldn't fix. I remember the days riding my Jap bikes and they just became very tired at the end of the day and I don't miss that. Someone posted earlier that greenland MX offers replacement kits that are OEM and priced right. I looked at the site and seems to be priced right when considering your riding something mechanically engineered better. Stick with the GG you will be happier. My buddies ride orange, great bikes too but I don't deal with as many problems.
