My sump and filler bolts seem to be really warn the Allen key fitting is about to start slipping. Where is the best place to buy these from? I'm in the uk

BMW uses the same bolt on their automotive drain plugs. Take yours over there and match it up.
Auto parts store may have them also.

Not sure, but the next size larger SAE allen may just fit into a sacked metric allen hole and be tight. I'm out of town and can't get to the bike for a few days to check...

I used a 1/2" on every half-rounded 13mm head on my old, beat up KTM 520.

If you need the get it out one last time, dip the allen key in grease and then sand. A Ducati trick, they use these too.

When you replace them, scrap the copper washers and replace with teflon orings. They crush and conform, but at much less torque, and can be reused several times. Easy removal and the plugs do not come loose.

Bolt is the same pitch and size as the KTM sump drain bolt. So you can use aftermarket hex magnetic bolts. It may or may not be easier to acquire.

My filler and drain bolts are on my rebuild list as I had to remove them with a punch and hammer. So useful info, Cheers guys.

I just held a 1/4" allen to the bolt and, if the hole were badly rounded, I'm sure I could tap the 1/4 in and it would be nice and tight.
