Trying to get the PV flapper out

I am trying to dis-assemble the powervalve and have followed the instructions from the technical section on here - the problem is the PV flapper seems marginally too big for the exhaust port and it won't come all of the way out. I have tried jiggling it around to try different positions and pulling it with a reasonable force and it just seems too big.

It's a 2005 ec300.

I believe the "trick" is to lower the piston so that the valve can be partially pushed into the cylinder, and then rotated, and then pulled through the exhaust flange.

Trust me, it does come out with patience.

So it should be vertical not horizontal when it comes out?

Seems like it comes out oriented vertical and lengthwise. We assume you have both pins out?

Yup pins are out - will try again tonight...
