Vacation with a Gasser?

Would like to throw out the question of were do you want to go with your bike?

I want to take a week long vacation this winter or spring and go riding. I don't think I want to leave the US because I would like to use my own bike but I am open to ideas.

The area would have to have logging, trail system with maps ect. If it's a day or two drive I would bring the bike myself, if longer I would ship it out before I left.

Colorado or Idaho would be my top picks without question. Probably not a spring or especially winter place to go riding considering the snow pack. I hear the miles and miles of single track in Idaho is amazing. Colorado has a really good documented trail system and the views from either are to die for.

When do we leave???

For spring or winter ridding I would go to Georgia. The Duhrma Town and Highland Park both look like some sweet places to ride.

Unless you want to go to Canada then go to victoria and get Dave from gasgaspacific to let you Demo a new bike and let hime show you the trails to ride.

I take the bike up to BC with some guys every spring. So far we have gone to Kelowna, Kamloops and Lytton(which I missed ). The riding is unreal and so are the friendly canadians we meet in the woods.

Hey PEB go a bit further north and I will go ridding with you. I am in Prince George which is about 6 hours North of Kamloops.

Well, you could do the WUDI ride in ARK, then head southeast to Meridian,MS. they have a good singletrack trail system there,http://www.meridianohvpark.com/ then go about 3.5 hours east to Birmingham, we have the Ridge http://www.ridgeriding.com/
or we have several riding areas to choose. If you let me know ahead of time,
I can arrange a ride at the famed Perry Mountain venue where they have the 24 hr race and nat'l enduros. Then when you want to move on, load up and travel about 3 hrs northeast and go to Highland Park http://www.highlandparkresort.com/
You could spend a couple of days here.... then over to Durhamtown about 4 hours southeast. From there you could head up to Brown Mtn in NC.

How long a vacation you takin'.....;) :D

PEB, there is some really good riding in pipestone, alot of single track, some twotrack, gets pretty busy late spring, right now icy!!

Hey Dave,

You definitely need to join the Moab trip. You can haul ass with Myron or piddle along with the fat guy. Either way it will be a great time. We will be riding White Wash, San Rafael swell, and a couple of days in the Moab vicinity. All great stuff.

If by some fluke it is snowing in Moab, we will probably slide over to St. George also great riding and warmer.

You will be most welcome at the Wudi11 Ride. We're going to have a real "Hoot!" this year.

Anyone wandering around as much as suggested above, ought to try the riding at Brush Mountain, NC. http://www.bmmspark.com/
This is the best riding that I have found east of the Mississippi River. I like Highland Park, but Brushy Mountain is better, with much more singletrack, and both the gnarly stuff I crave as well as the fast stuff that the hare scrambler types love to rip up.

Good Riding and Traveling!
