Found one!

I am in need of a 2K-2 Kukosan flywheel, which is the smaller version of GagGas flywheel from bikes with lights. It should have the number FP8184 on it. Please contact me if you have one for sale. Thank you.

Find the post by "Zeal" in the "parts for sale forum," or search his name and pm him. I believe he has one for sale.

Flywheel

Thank you Jeff, I responded to his classified. Happy Thanksgiving!

I do not need the whole ignition, I just need the flywheel. I got this bike used and the flywheel internal puller threads are stripped. I needed to weld the puller into the flywheel to get it off.

If it's not damaged by heat from welding, get your flywheel machined to next thread size puller at your local machinist shop(or what it's called)..

The welding had a significant impact on the flywheel. I believe the cost of the machining, rebalance and new oversized puller will be more expensive than the replacement flywheel.

Does anyone know if these 2K2 flywheels cross over to any other bike brands?

I am afraid your going to be stuck for a while without one. To find a guy that his stator goes out and happens to be a small one is like finding a golf ball in a haystack, its possible, but it will take some time. I know if I had a bad stator, that whole assembly would be going in the garbage.

No that assembly is similar to others and I believe someone had converted a KTM assembly, but that would involve more than just a flywheel.

Good luck!

The 2K-2 stators are the same for KTM and GG. The backing plates are almost the same as well, a slight mod and a KTM stator and backing plate can be used, otherwise the actual stator coils and pickup can be swapped to the GG backing plate. I am not sure about the flywheels but I would bet they are the same, with the same taper and timing. GG is a small customer of Kokusan and there would be no reason to spec a special part. If you have a friend with a KTM, compare your trashed flywheel for fit and timing. If it fits, find a KTM 2K-2 from a part out. I do not think you will be able to find just a flywheel, even new.

Thank you both for the information. I will do some research and keep looking.

I am still looking for a 2k2 flywheel. I would consider the flywheel and stator for the right price. I can always keep the stator in stock as a backup.

I wish you all a happy healthy, prosperous and wheelieful 2013!

Tim
