What kind of Fuel do you use?

Curious about what kind of Gas everybody uses in their Gassers?

I just rebuilt my 04 DE200 and Saturday will be the first time I crank it and I have to get some gas and was thinking about using Sonoco 110 and Aamco Premium at a 50/50 mixture with Torco GP7 at 50:1 or should I break it in on just the Aamco Premium at 50:1?

Everyone has their favorite magic potions, but I have always ran my bikes with Sunoco 94 octane with a 40:1 premix ratio. I'm sure many will be chiming in, but I don't believe in using race gas unless you have modified the piston compression very high. The stock engine (even with RB Design squish band mod) should be able to run on pump gas just fine.

EDIT: it may also depend on your region's gas supply. Our pump gas here runs good in my bike. Some other places (perhaps as Gasgasman mentions) could be total crap.

I run 110 octane race gas straight at a 32:1 mix.
My bike was pinging on the pump swill.

On my 2001 SE250, I ran race gas also. The power valves always looked clean when I did a top end on the bike.

I've run lots of different gas in my bikes. I've used the good ole PeMex in Mexico with absolutely no pinging or problems. In Costa Rica, Gas is muy expensiv compared to the U.S., and I've run the inconsistent gas there with no problem. I have had occasional pinging, but I narrowed that one down to the gas from the store on the road to Puntereanes. It's a coastal town, and I think they have leaky underground tanks.

In the U.S. I usually run Shell, or 76 premium, and up 'till very recently I've run Mobile 1 2t oil at 36:1 with ultra crisp LTR jetting (45 pilot, 178 main, LTR needle in the second clip from the top). No spooge, no smoke, just crisp, instant throttle response.

here in Australia i'll run any servo's 98 octane fuel. I havent found a mob who sells bad stuff yet but im keeping an eye out.

98 Octane and Motul 800 at 50:1

Gulf or Mobil premium, with VP red mixed @ 50/50 in early spring and late fall when the ethanol levels go up. The '07 runs fine on straight pump premium in summer, mucho power and no pinging.

One gas that did not run as well was Lukoil. My VRod, which is somewhat picky about its fuel diet, runs like crap on this as well.

You just know everybody is suffering from cabin fever when these types of posts crop up, with dakar cancelled and all. How about a , show us a picture of your worst monkey butt, post.

Just to make you guys feel bad........it was about 80 degrees here in Houston yesterday.

Any of you that are having cabin fever can come down to Houston February 24, 2008 and run the Enduro we are putting on. I'm sure the weather will be "Tropical":D

I run supreme in my bike. I mainly try to buy it out in the country somewhere because Girard told me there is less ethanol (SP) out in da woods. 40:1 Amsoil Dominator

I've got a station 2 blocks from my house that sells 111 race gas from the pump. (The owner is drag racer.)

I usually mix 111 and the highest pump octane I can get 60/40 with 40:1 Amsoil Dominator. I get a little spooge, but not much. The availability of high octane gas without ethanol is getting very hard to find here in the middle of ethanol production country. Anything over 89 octane is becoming very rare.

One thing I noticed, the race gas doesn't have much of shelf life. Once it goes bad, it goes reeaaaly bad. Now, I try to mix only what I need for the weekend.
