Anyone nearby have a trials bike for sale? I owned one awhile ago but never really used at as it was right when my shoulder went so I sold it. Like to find one to play with. No cheapies on CL

same on this side of the coast. I think a lot of the trials bikes get bought/sold from within the clubs so most of us never see them for sale. I've been watching over here for about 6 months and only see people trying to get $2500 for '99 models on CL. Used to be able to get a good used one (7-10yr old)for $1000. Maybe I'm getting old.

Bought my 96 Beta Techno for $1000 last fall. Needed a clutch slave rebuild and water pump seal, and some other tinkering, but now works great. Rode for an hour yesterday practicing log crossings, balancing at a standstill, tire crossings, ledge drops, etc. Total Blast!!! Problem is AmericanBeta told me they can't get the AJP brake parts for the front brake system anymore, so rotors, rebuild kits are unavailable. Has a broken back fender which are not available anymore. I got the front brake working but how long will it last?

Then if something breaks on it that I can't get parts for, do I try to sell it or part it out? Sorry the point is yes, once in a while a "deal" will come up, but I may have been better off spending 2500 for a newer bike that didn't need so much work and that parts availability isn't a problem.

Don't get me wrong, this bike is a ton of fun, but I truly wish I had spent more and bought a GasGas trials.

On the other hand, my daughter's boyfriend rides a '90 Fantic 309 trials. Aircooled. Yes 1990. 24 years old. And it runs and rides fine. And he rides the heck out of it. Go figure.

Try trialsparts-usa ... I bet a lot of Beta parts cross over to the GG trials. Jim is good people ... and part of the new gasgasmotos usa team!

I'm not local to you but I have an older gasser that has been in storage for 13-14 years. It is a 96 JTR270 with the 97 updates done to it. Bike needs plastics, front fork seals, and front tire (I have a good rear trials tire that I took off my ec250). Bike was ridden only in competition and only for 3 years. I might be willing to sell it - I will entertain offers. The following video shows one of these older JTRs in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJfpcE9gBuU
