Wudi 17 Ride/March 5-8, 2015

Yup I'd go if I could find somebody around central Indiana to go. Looks like it would a great ride considering the good weather guarantee.

:)

I've "paid extra" for good weather all 17 years, but I can't get a money back guarantee on that deal. Most years, we really do have good weather. Other years, not quite as good.
One year (I think it was 2005), we held the ride the last week in February. It was 77F and sunny on Thursday, and people were running around the campground in shorts and shade hats. It dropped to 68F on Friday morning, and by Saturday morning it was 22F and snowing. :)
Regardless of the weather, we've always been able to ride.
The year it did the above, about thirty of us stayed and rode in the snow until the next Tuesday.
With no ice under the snow, there was great traction and lots of good photo opportunities.

I hope you take up Ken's offer. It would be great to meet you and to get to ride with Ken again.

I'm at exit 99 on I-65. I would be up for the ride and ride share

Ok I have to see if I can weasel out of some scheduled training at work. Will know by mid-week if I can go or not. Sounds like we could hook up and ride down to Nashville then ride with Ken to AR. What an adventure!!! Lol

I have a small toy hauler, very small and an extended cab truck. If you sit in back you can reaquainted with your knees. I am up for any way to get there to ride.

Trail Pass is doing a "spring ride" at 7 Springs this year the weekend before the Wudi ride so I'll probably go to it instead (much closer). - Ken

It's only a month and a half until the Wudi 17 Ride.

Plans are coming together for this year's Wudi Ride. The RazorBack Riders are working hard to get the trails ready for us.

This year, we will have the unique opportunity to ride their enduro trails BEFORE the enduro. That's going to be really good.

I'm really looking forward to seeing all ya'll on the trail and campground.

Good Riding!

There is a good chance that the GasGas race truck will be at the Wudi 17 Ride.
The date and location of Wudi 17 is between two National Enduros, and things are in the works to have the truck and equipment stored in the general area and be with us for the Wudi for show, and maybe demo rides.

Time is getting close.

Here is the latest Wudi 17 update from jeb:

The club really worked hard this weekend and we have all of the trails opened up for the Enduro, thanks to this weekends work as well as several weekends before this. They are all in really good shape. We knocked down what must be at least 2 miles of heavy briars in that property across the road from our camp. There are still a couple of trails that we are not using for the enduro that I'm hoping to get cleaned up before Wudi too, but we're in great shape as of right now. Weather continues to impress, sunny and 65-70 for highs last weekend. Sure hoping that holds out for Wudi. One of our club members brought in a huge load of split wood this weekend too. So if it is chilly, at least we can knock the cold off in the club house.

I talked to the lady that has done the catered meal for us the last several years (Wanda) and we are going to do a ham dinner this year. Same cost as last year, $15 a head. Includes everything, sides, beverage, desert. I have a couple of folks that said they were in for the meal, but please let me know if you want in so I can get her an accurate headcount. It will be on Friday night, 3/6, at 7PM at the club house.

Less than a month away. I'm sure looking forward to it! One of my favorite events every year, and I was sure bummed last year about not being able to ride.

Let me know if you have any questions or need more details.

WUDI has been cancelled.

Here is the latest Wudi 17 update from jeb:

Bad news, folks. I just got a call from the Razorback Riders board and they have decided to call off Wudi this year. They are concerned that the trails are too wet right now, and the forecast does not show them having much drying time between now and the event. I was blindsided by this and only got wind of it this afternoon, so am as disappointed as I'm sure everyone else is. I was getting so pumped about the event starting soon . But after 16 years of memorable events, there will be no Wudi this year.

I apologize to everyone that has scheduled vacation and done a lot of prep work to come to the event. I know from when I lived in MN and was coming to these rides instead of hosting them, how much time and effort (and anticipation to go riding!) is spent getting ready. We'll miss seeing everyone and hope to re-group for next year.

Again, I'm very sorry to be delivering this news.

Bummer, I was really tring to get down there. But we have the same situation up here, just enough clouds and precipitation to be a soggy mess for the last month! Next time!

We'll be riding here in Tennessee that weekend. If anyone wants to come down we could ride Friday as well. Primitive camping where we ride and my heated camper (sleeps 5-6) is available nearby at my house plus we have a spare bedroom. Riding area is roughly 100,000 acres. A CAUTION we did have a huge ice storm last Saturday so it is likely trees will be down everywhere so riding may be more work than fun. We ride about 20 miles northeast of Cookeville.

Yes. It has been cancelled. John called me yesterday and gave me the word; but the internet service was down in Smackover, so I couldn't pass it along here.

We are already planning on next year's Wudi Ride. Right now, we are thinking of moving it back to Brock Creek Trail, where it was held last before we moved it to White Rock Mountain area.

I apologize, but there is nothing I can do about it being cancelled this year.

If it's not too wet, we are thinking about riding down in LA at Camp Claiborne Range next weekend.

Good Riding!
Jim
