200 Search for power

Hi Guys

My 200 wants for a bit more power. She is the cc/xc 2010 model. So far bike has 45 pilot 175 main at sea level, a vforce reed cage and 13 51 sprocket combo, stock pipe and silencer. I was thinking of adding the powervalve spacer.

What do you guys suggest to give her a bit more oumph. The squish is actually quite good so without running high octane fuel (unavailable in Ireland), I cant go lower.

Any suggestions?

i did this on my 200:

pv spacer
2k2 ignition, early xc200 cdi, 9 oz fww, pushed timing 1 degree advanced (if your squish is below 1.4mm i probably wouldn't recommend..)
doma pipe
13/52 gearing - but i think 13/51 is probably better...

the spacer did make a difference on the 200..gave it a little more grunt down low.

Interesting....I have an 08 Husky CR144 (now) and it has awesome power. My next bike will most likely be a GasGas 200. My 300 GG has more power than I can use most of the time and was thinking the GG 200 would be the ticket; maybe or maybe not. So Blanc does it have power in the mid-top and just lacking right off the bottom?

i have been running 200s for the last few years i had an 2005 which had an FMF gnarly pipe and a powercore silencer which made a difference but i dont think they make them for the later models i couldn't find any listed bacause i wanted the same for the 2009 model i currently have but i could be wrong. As Clay says probably the easiest option is to buy a 250 it just has more power everywhere.I'm still waiting for next years 200 to be based on the 125 chassis and be a few kilos lighter and i'm straight off to buy one as that is not likely i might go for a 250 but i'm still not decided because although the 200 does lack a bit of torque i still like the way you can really thrash it about without getting yourself into too much trouble.

I am in Ireland the exchange rate and model changes added approx 2k to the cost of the new model. It is now almost 8000. Yikes

IThe 200 has a lot more power eg its faster than a 144 its just the 144 feels faster. My bike has not hit that made me love two strokes. How much is the flywheel weight and ignition and do they bolt straight onto the euro 2010s??

I agree the 2k2 flywheel is the most worthwile mod to bring the 200 to life, its not cheap though, to buy a brand new one in a gasgas bag was ~500NZD (260GBP) a few months ago.

the 2k2 or 2k1 (no lighting coil) from a ktm will work, they're pretty cheap - i paid $60 for the last one i bought.... can't remember for sure, but i think you still need the gg flywheel for the 2k2, but you can use the 2k-1 flywheel from ktm. i keep using the same flywheel - i have 3 or 4 2k-1/2k-2 ignitions here - been stocking up after i had one fail. the early xc200 cdi or perhaps the mc250 cdi's are the ones with the fastest advance curve....

does the 2010 xc200 have a 2k3 on it? that would kinda surprise me...

Yea, my 07 200 has the 2k3, a mates 2010 200 had a 2k3, he replaced it with a 2k2 though.

blanc,

You should have no problem working a trade here for a 2K-2, its been done several times, by myself included.
