This has been my wife's bike since new in '02. It was only ridden a few times a year on camping trips, not local in the rocks here. I'd estimate less than 30 hrs. It has a pipe guard, skid plate, hand guards, o-ring chain, and new rear brake pads. Good IRC trials rear and S12 front tires with HD tubes. Bike is in excellent shape, needs nothing. My wife is turning 50 soon and just does not want to kick start the high comp motor anymore. It does start very easy (1 kick) though. It has a current valid NJ tag and title. $2200.

Personally I think the bike is too light duty for average woods use. If you ride it like a typical enduro bike you will destroy it, thats why I never ride it. I rode it one day with my kids at their speed and smoked the rear caliper, had to rebuild it. So, I just don't understand the attraction for people like us. It is a perfect low speed trail bike for a casual rider, wife or girlfriend.

For me, it's the perfect trail working bike; or for taking grandkids with me, two up. However, when working trail and finishing a section, everyone would "take off" toward the next work section, and at speed it would remind me of it's intended purpose. (which immediately prompted me to slow down in the rough stuff.)

Just goes to show you that a light weight physically small sized bike has great appeal. If GG would make one based on enduro bikes rather than trials bikes it could quickly become their best seller here in the US. This segment of the dirt bike world is crying out for a bike and no one is willing to fill it. The jap stuff is way too heavy unless it is full on mx race stuff (and then it is physically the wrong size). The European stuff is all based on trials bikes which make them popular in Europe where trials is popular but not here. The ktm freeride 350 comes close but is way too expensive and more importantly has way too tall seat height - that's the killer. This segment of dirt bike riders are short of inseam, riding experience, or both and they would pay good money for a capable bike that's not heavier than a 450 mxer.

If you based it on an EC/XC to make it more durable it would weigh about the same. Save a few lbs if you used a trials motor. Its light because its fragile. The vast majority of interest in the bike from my experience selling it was for a rider/racer's wife, and second as somewhat of a collectors item because its rare. I think if you were too small/short for an EC, this bike would be a PIA to kickstart. That was my wife's problem, not due to size but a failing right knee. She said she would rather have the weight of a small Jap 4stroke and the estart than a 200 lb bike that kicks like a CR500. I think if the trials motor were to be used again in a bike like this, they should drop the compression.

The Freeride 350 can easily be lowered by replacing the wheels with a pair from a SX85 according to the main Norwegian KTM dealer. I know a couple that just purchased two 350 freeride bikes from that dealer, one full size bike for him, and one with smaller wheels for her.
