Hummm...so, is there an "oily ring" around the shock shaft?I don't think that it feels like a pogo stick yet, I didn't get to ride much yesterday because I broke my foot peg. The stock air filter was pretty dry so I don't think that's the problem and I don't over oil my filters either. I'm going to check the extened brake reservior even though my brakes feel fine.
While its not uncommon to see a slight oil ring form, you would know if it was from a blown seal head. The ring would show an excessive amount, enough that dirt / grime collects and the oil will actually run down the shaft. The dead give away is the lack of dampening (pogo stick action) Wipe the shaft down and put in a couple of laps then inspect. Have you tried different shock settings to see if the "clickers" are having an effect on rebound and compression dampening?I did notice a oily ring but I thought is was from assembly
I would think if you had a brake fluid leak strong enough to reach the shock spring, it would also get on the exhaust, causing a bit of a smell as it burned. You could clean the master cylinder with some contact cleaner then dry it off. Grab some baby power, and put a light dusting on the sealing edges of the cap. If there is a leak, it will show fast thru the powder.I don't think that it feels like a pogo stick yet, I didn't get to ride much yesterday because I broke my foot peg.
