2011 GG EC 300 Gas Cap Replacement

I got the replacement cap and it still leaks. Only when the tank is full so not the end of the world but still slightly annoying.

I cut a donut out of cork gasket material and added it to the existing rubber gasket. When I looked at my cap to tank interface, I believed that the cap bottomed out before the runner gasket seated on the tank lip. So far the additional gasket material has helped reduce, if not eliminate, any leakage.

I don't know if the newer gasser fuel caps are like the older ones, mine's an 05, but my cap was leaking due to the fact the outside edge of the cap was hitting the sides of the indent in the tank before the seal could actually seat properly. I (neatly) sanded a couple of mm off the cap perimeter on a belt sander and it hasn't leaked since.

The 10/11 model had a stupid seal that would sit right inside the whole cap. With little time it would shrink and no longer provide a sealing lip for the tank to interface with correctly. I removed it entirely so that I have plastic on plastic and it seems to be just fine.

The 2012+ seems to have a different cap and I have had zero problems with it. However, regardless of cap choice if you have a full tank some will be lost out the vent if you bounce the bike around a bit.

Exactly.
