2015 E-start burned

Starter fried

I'm only guessing but I'd be thinking along the lines that if you're starter motor is fried that bad then there is a big possibility that a problem exists elsewhere. Not sure about the wiring on these n I'm not an electrician as such but is there any regulators, relays or fuses along the circuit at all. With any luck it may just be a blown fuse..

Test the starter unmounted with an external battery to confirm it spins OK. Grab the spinning shaft with a glove, it should have lots of torque. So if it is attached to the motorcycle starter cable and grounded (but not mounted), does it also spin fine when you push the start button?

If so that would seem to indicate the wiring, fuses and starter relay are OK. Any chance the starter can't do anything because the ring gear teeth are broken or jammed? If the contacts in the starter relay are in poor shape, there may not be enough current getting to the starter motor to crank when it's under load.

I have test the starter un mounted and i spinned great, it do have a lot of torque when spinning it by hand. It also spins fine when i have it attached to the starter cabel and grounded but no mounted. I think its the ring gear teeth thats jammed, i will take it apart tonight. Thanks for all the help guys!!

Okay now i have taken the whole mechanism apart and lubed it! And now everything spins great, EXCEPT that my new starter motor spins the wrong way.. haha fuck. What to do now? Can you reverse it some easy way?

Ty :)

Yeah, the rear assembly can go on two ways. Pull it and rotate it. We just had this same problem on a friends KTM.
